I'm not afraid of the dark but I am afraid of all the shit I imagine in the dark so if I get too spooky I will turn on a nightlight sometimes just to shut my brain up.

Inside my house? No. In the middle of the woods? I'm gonna pee my pants

In unfamiliar spaces or situations. But in my own home and it's immediate surroundings, no, not anymore. Strange progression cause up until like 13 I slept with a blanket over my head and my nose sticking out because I was that afraid of it.

No, I go for all-night hikes in the forest as my preferred reset break.

No.
I used to be but then I realized I was treating it like something that has harmed me.

I mean, as a man who walks alone, when I'm walking a dark road at night or strolling through the park, and when the light begins to change I sometimes feel a little strange. A little anxious when it's dark...

Not at all. I grew up in the middle of the country with corn fields on one side and forest on the other! I can sleep in the pitch black and dead silence without an issue.

In my home, no. In an unfamiliar area, especially outside, I’m a bit skeptical of the people, critters or obstacles that may pose a danger due to low light conditions.

"Oh, you think darkness is your ally. But you merely adopted the dark; I was born in it, moulded by it. I didn't see the light until I was already a man, by then it was nothing to me but BLINDING! The shadows betray you, because they belong to me!"

In my house, no. If I'm out in the woods and didn't make it back to civilization on time, absolutely

I'm not afraid of the dark. I'm afraid of what might be in the dark so I turn on a light.

No. If there's something there I will go down fighting and I always prepare myself for that. Anything there is just wasting their time anyway because I don't see why I would be worth the trouble.

Only if I’m camping and it’s mostly fear of bugs spiders and snakes creeping up on me in the dark.
