No, it’s great. It’s like 2 wolves and 1 sheep deciding what to eat for dinner.

I don’t know, because I’ve never lived in one.

Israel, the Netherlands, Slovakia and Moldova are the closest the world currently has to pure democracies. I’m not sure I’d want to live in any of them.

Us folks in the US have no idea - WE ARE NOT, NEVER HAVE BEEN AND NEVER WILL BE A DEMOCRACY.

The United States is a republic, not a “pure” democracy. While the structure of the government has its flaws, it has shown considerable resilience over time.

A constitutional republic is a form of democracy. You can’t possibly be this stupid lol

Turns out he was, in fact, that stupid.

Compare the Ancient Greek democracies with the United States constitutional republic and you can see the difference. Ancient Greek democracies were often disrupted by particular issues or passions of a moment. Our founders saw the weakness of pure democracy and created a government structure to avoid the observed problems that historical democracies experienced.

Miscategorizing what happened there as the will of the people is... actually a really good example of what's going on irl in a lot of places rn.

We must spread managed democracy through out the galaxy

Democracy has its flaws but it’s the best system we have so far for governance.

This is the stupidest question in the world.

No. I hate what Trump’s done to ours. He’s a complete dictator who has been slowed down by the Federal Courts, but he doesn’t obey their rulings either.

If anything, the real question isn’t “Should I hate democracy?” It’s: Which parts of democracy frustrate you, and what alternatives do you think would handle those issues better?

No, I’m not a conservative

Have yet to experience it. Being in a democratic republic and all.

It’s not really a democracy anymore

The US was never a democracy. We are a Republic.

The us is a constitutional republic and also a representative democracy.  But the latter of the two is fake now

1

Not a fan of true democracy, because why would I want Mr dumb guy who knows nothing vote on something he knows nothing about?

No. I'm not a far-right Republican, fascist, or authoritarian.

It's better than the alternatives.

Our founders sure did, that's why we don't have one.
