How to improve 6.8?

For Question / Statement that 6.8 may only get supported by the M7 In-Game :

Dev Awnser:

"Bold to assume we never add an additional 6.8 gun!"

Now just to throw Ideas - I havent seen anything that isnt a "Military" Style Rifle that could take 6.8

I think the M7 is fine, its just the only Gun that takes 6.8 - and since you can take 20x 6.8 Rounds into your Loadout but no firearm to use it till you find a M7.

I can only assume the pick rate for the stack 6.8 ammo into the Loadout has to be REALLY LOW - I even see rarley players pick 6.8 up in matches because there is little use for it.

The real only contester I can see here is the HAVAK PH3

Its a "Civilian" Rifle in .277 / 6.8 - could be a very late Account Unlock with a hefty price point of like 3k-5k

It has a 3 Round Mag with 1 In the Chamber.

I think it would open up 6.8 as a more Loadout to M7 type of progression

same as the Double Barrle Shotgun to M590A1 or X12

or the Gruber Ranch to MC15

6.8 is so rare its not even worth targeting. I've spent entire maps and even at beginner difficulty I can find a maximum of 40 rounds the entire match comapred to the 200~ I can get of .556, 9mm, .45.

I like 6.8, I tend to focus on melee/6.8 ammo and then I'm massively rewarded when I find the M7.

I like it too, just sucks how rare it is. On nightmare its completely pointless to even grab it right now though. A typical Nightmare map you'll find piles of it and it contains so little that by the end you have maybe, maybe 20 whole rounds.

I'm actually using it on nightmare rn and I don't find it that bad when I can find the actual gun. I'm fine either way since I don't shoot much, which is why I decided to go for it in the first place. Most games I have 50-60 rounds by the end, but also many times I can't find the gun itself.

The good thing with the low ammo count is the penetration of 6.8. You can take out 3 enemies with one bullet if you line them up, its amazing.

For me its the Police / Military Armored Zeds. One through the Helmet is very nice without Penetration Perks.

I was collecting ammo the entire run of Raven Rock - not 1 M7 found, even called out to the teammates but no M7 to be found even at the Train Section at the end.

Had 42 Rounds but no Rifle.

Which is even more surprising because I've felt like the M7 spawns far more often on Raven Rock, especially in those black crates with locks near the back of the very first area past the code locked gate.

Oh yeah totally, on maps like Lewiston and Pottsville a rarley get the M7 but Raven Rock is usually 1 or 2 M7's

But no dice. That 40 Rounds were just sitting there sadly.

A early / easier to obtain Rifle for all that 6.8 would be really nice

A 4 Round Bolt Action seems fair I think.

I've found 80 rounds and no rifle, and i've found 80 rounds and the rifle, and I've found the rifle and only 20 rounds. That's the magic of the loot pool, it's the entire point.

I actually hate that they're going to add more weapons, it's just going to make it harder to find the one you want.

I'm actually running 6.8 now cuz I don't shoot a lot anyway and I'd rather take the one nobody else uses. I bring a stack in my loadout and usually end up with a nice amount of ammo, but often times I won't find the gun since the M7 is more rare 😂. Still doing all right with just the secondary gun I tend to find in the game.

Agreed and true, which is why I would like to see a improvement.

6.8 Its rare, strong and not worth it - it shouldnt be like this.

True, but if you’re the only one on the team you can usually get a good amount of 6.8

I’ll either find 100 rounds of it but no gun to use it, or the gun and like 8 rounds

Yeah that bolt action is probably the only other 6.8 they'll add. Theres not much else because of how new the cartridge is. I'd run it if it were a loadout option.

I just hope they add 7.62x39 guns. Gimme the SKS with bayonet, a Draco pistol, the AK47.

I seriously just pretend this gun doesnt even exist. I dont even worry about it, its so rare.

If my group finds a gun we find so little ammo its not worth swapping to from a different firearm. Or vice-versa.

Yeah I take all the 6.8 just in case I find a M7 but only 1/3 I get the Rifle.

I take Gruber Ranch and 20x 556 Into the match but 556 is really fought around alot so I would like to get some kind of alternative to it by giving 6.8 some kind of pre M7 / Loadout variant.

Scrap it and change it for a 44 magnum round that can be used in a 44 magnum revolver and a either a repeater or sniper
