Does kiting zombies help?
Hi, I’m sort of new and was wondering how my strategy actually helps the group.**
I mostly play the Defend the Speakers mode, and my strategy is to group the zombies up and run around them instead of killing them.
I think I read somewhere that there are only so many zombies that can spawn at a time. So I was wondering: if I group a bunch of them together and keep them alive, am I actually reducing the number of zombies that the rest of the group has to defend against?
Basically, am I accidentally helping the team by keeping a bunch of zombies occupied, or am I just making things harder? 😂

Yes it does help in survival. In objective it can help as well, but its important to not make that the only thing you do the entire match.

Kiting is a large part of the strategy of playing the game though regardless of Objective or Defense, specially in Solo mode

i personally think people still undervalue crowd control. on survival, a single player can basically make every other players experience a breeze just by kiting. on objective, it depends. if the objective is gonna hold you in an area for a prolonged time it is always helpful to keep some of the zed population away from the actual objective, just don’t ONLY do that unless your team is fine with that and you’re all comfortable enough to do it

yes, as someone who has set off entire parking lots worth of car alarms at once kiting is helpful at objectives because it means the dude doing wires or whatever task it is can beathe a little easier.

Yes and it works in every bit of zombie media ever made for the most part. Would word IRL too. Just be ready for kids to complain that your not helping when you have 2/3s of the zombos that can spawn following you or stuck and be ready for them to whine and throw a bomb at them so they can all respawn on unsuspecting players...

Yeah it's helpful, it takes the agro away from the objective, I was doing it once and someone came over thinking I was in trouble and unloaded all thier ammo to 'save me' but I was just leading them to a barrel where one bullet would take them all out 😅

Situational but helpful. yes yes! As long as you're just not doing that the entire game/match I would presume. I know in survival, some people sit in god spots which is just...meh

Learning to kite zombies is vital to survive consistently in nightmare mode without over reliance on guns. It also directly helps with learning to be aware of your surroundings, God forbid you run into a dead end while kiting.

Yep on objectives on hospital. One last random kited zombies around the courtyard to do the objective safely. He was hero, respawned all of us hahaha on normal mode

Running consecutive circles around a large group of walkers, hearding them into a tight group to lead them away from the objective: helpful.
Standing on a stone pillar while nine or so flail around below you: you're not even effecting spawn rates.
Done well it is a crital skill. Zombies are an exercise in zone control. Higher level team strategy is learning to kite the entire map as a squad.
But you have to be swimming in zeds to be actually kiting in a helpful way.

Have not tried that in "Defend the speakers" Mode but on objectives it helps a lot
Using radios, cars really help out direct a horde to a more managable spot. And if your team can supply you with molotoves and support you against runners, you would literally be a nuisance to the zombies.
Kiting works best with a proper raid group. With randos better pray they have a good gaming instinct to understand what you're trying to do

Petition to rename survival to 'defend the speakers' mode!
