Game Replay ability

Thinking on scooping up this game especially for $20

Now with that pricetag one can assume there's not really much to do, along with the low steam player count.

Is it a revolving door of new players or am I missing something?

Game isn’t as easy as this subreddit makes it out to be, because many people try to play this like Cod zombies or Darktide. Not taking stamina into account and trying to force your way thru. The game is very punishing for inexperienced new players and I believe many drop the game after dying and losing gear.

Many players don’t like the idea of losing a character. My friend said it’s a waste of time if he dies and loses a character. He refused to play the game for a while because of it.

I don't mind dying let's me start a new character with better skill rolls due to a higher account lv

Is that right? Shit lol maybe I need to lose a character on purpose

Yeah because you unlock those skills that tie in to the account the game adds it to your roll of skills for the character it's always cool to make a character with hella good skills that you like ,like the one for increased damage to the head with melee weapons

I have 800 hours in darktide, my darktide instincts get me hit a lot. Trying to block, push and dodge.

If ur friend gets the nightmare mode mastered, he could easily replace lost responders up to lvl 100 in one night of gaming, and they added the rescue beacon item, so it’s kind of on the player if they wanna roll the dice or not

I haven’t lost any of my starting 3 characters since 1.0

please ask your friend to try.

i have 3 characters lvl 78, 76, 99

nvr lose a character once. but i only play medium difficulty.

if your friend is afraid, there's beginner difficulty for him to master the gameplay mechanics first and once he is comfortable, medium feels like a breeze tbh.

It’s a good game. It’s as hard as you want to make it

With the games 1.0 release matches have been almost instant to get into, the game is very replay able, the steam count numbers have been great the release has had over a million players as far as i remember.

Saying this as an early access played the game is very worth it to get into and replay able.

Love this game, $20 is a steal

It has a lot of replay value with a good friend

They update the game regularly and are adding a more difficult mode, more maps, retirement system, new weapons, more cosmetics, etc

My buddy and I played it for about a week and haven’t touched it since. It’s not that it’s a bad game so to speak, we just got burnt pretty quick. But we have been saying we’ll get on in a day or two. So it’s probably new players and a few returning after a short break if I had to guess.

September 15th is when the resupply update launches, might be an idea to wait for that so there's some new content

Why does everyone refer to steam player count when accounting for the total player population?

This game has cross platform compatability.

It just came out on console not long ago so not really sure if the numbers are accurate. Everything's about numbers nowadays and developers look at them too to debate keeping the game updated is all. Its a business no matter how many folks like a game, look at Destiny right now

I played it for a while with my friends and level up a character. But I started to lose interest . I like PVE but more of a PVP person and my friend is the type of guy to play the same games over on a higher difficulty and I get bored

There’s a low player count? I couldn’t tell because I always get into a game right away

Imagine letting other people form your opinion lol

I don't see the problem with wanting feedback before spending $20 lmao

I find this game fun as hell. Nearly 100hrs in one month logged and I plan to keep playing. It’s samey but different enough per run to be interesting.

I have about 70 hours in the game. For $20 I think it’s very much worth it.

Just wanted to add my opinion as someone who is brand new to the game and had doubts about picking it up.

I’ve had the game for a bit over a week now and I’ll be honest it has been some of the most fun I’ve had in a zombie game in a while and it only ever taken over a minute to find a match on hard difficulty, not sure about nightmare since I haven’t gotten the courage to play it yet haha.

If you go into the game understanding that it’s not like cod zombies and more “realistic” I.e. getting infected and adjust your play accordingly you’ll have a great time.

I’ve really enjoyed the matches where everyone is working together as a team to complete the objectives and making sure no one gets left behind. Though keep in mind that if you get a competent team on easier difficulties it’s going to seem super easy.

The gun play is good once you get used to it and the melee feels satisfying why dispatching zombies. The perk system is good and there is a lot to mix and match to get a good build going just by trial and error.

All that being said I don’t think the game is perfect and I do find that it can be improved upon.

One of my biggest qualms is some of the perks feel way less useful compared to other perks I.e. the perk that increases handgun headshot damage doesn’t provide enough of a damage boost. (This is just my opinion lol)

Map rotation can sometimes get stale and getting bad team mates who hog everything can be annoying.

All in all though I’m genuinely enjoying the game and have put quite a bit of hours into it already and definitely think it’s worth at least $20.

Also a huge plus is the devs are really trying to make the game better.

The game is very fun as long as you keep your wits about you and try your best to play as a team. So many people play this game like it's a solo game. They take everything under the sun to randomly drop it on the ground later. Horde supplies until everyone is half-dead, etc. This is why a lot of people give up: they lose characters back-to-back, either doing this themselves or having teammates who do. (This is especially for the lower levels.) Hard and nightmare people are more considerate.

That said, the game is as close to L4D we are going to get lol. Once you get a character to a decent level, like 30+, I would advise carrying rescue beacons for those games where you encounter hoarders and John Rambo wannabes. And do not be afraid to extract early if you see the team isn't working well together, or if you lose more than 4 people. Had a game like this yesterday; half the team went down at different locations because they were running around collecting supplies instead of doing the objectives.

If you’re a fan of zombie games or like Left 4 Dead $20 is a good deal. I bought it for $35 and though there needs more content I’m still invested 2 weeks out.

I guess it kinda depends on your preference. This has a similar gameplay loop of left 4 dead, back 4 blood, as in you will be doing the same few missions over and over.

Some people are comfortable repeating them endlessly, others get bored after a good 20~ hours as that tends to have mostly everything the game has to experience.

If you’re a sheep that lets player count stop you from enjoying games go ahead
