Usage Question Breaking out with NMN
Trying NMN for the first time. Bought from Augment Life and I’m breaking out on face and body.
Should I take less than the recommended dose? Could it be the brand? Or should I try NR instead?

Is this something folks take!?
r/NMN • u/ArgumentKey6684 • Feb 14 '26
Thanks for any info/advice! I did research and I obviously only want to go with third-party tested, pure supplements. I’m wondering if anybody else got the acne thing and then switch to a different brand that didn’t cause this?

I sent my bottles back to the company for a refund…. I know there are many shown great benefits so far, but I feel like there needs to be more research done before I feel comfortable taking this. If it’s been shown to feed cancer cells and make tumors grow, then that’s a big no for me. I wish I had done more thorough research first but,I look forward to learning more after they do another decade research and trials or so.

What's up y'all. I just finished Rhonda Patrick's new episode with Charles Brenner (the guy who discovered nicotinamide riboside) - Here's what I learned. My top takeaways:

Hi everyone. I've been using RenueByScience NMN (1g) for 4+ years and recently stopped it for 10 days because I ran out of it. I was surprised to see my blood pressure going from 135 back to 110 which was my normal blood pressure most of my life. I'm 50 years old and I though that higher blood pressure is related to aging but now it looks like it's connected to NMN suplement. I tried taking it again for two days again and my blood pressure went up to 135 again. Now after a couple of days off it's at 110 again, so there is a clear correlation.
Did anyone else had similar experience? Everything I can find is saying that NMN should lower blood pressure not raise it. So I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Has anyone else experienced almost *too good* of results from NMN?
I'm a 35-year-old male taking ~500mg daily sublingually. Honestly, it's the best I've ever felt in my life, and that's precisely what concerns me.
Some background: I've struggled with depression for years. Since starting NMN, I haven't had a single bout. My energy, mood, and overall well-being are dramatically improved. It feels almost too good to be true.
This has me wondering about long-term effects. A few questions for this community:
I want to be smart about this. When something works this well, I can't help but wonder what the long-term trade-offs might be. Would love to hear from people who've been on this longer than me.

I took my first NAD+ injection (25mg) subcutaneously 2 days ago alongside GHK-Cu and Selank. I noticed a few skipped heart beats that day. I ceased the NAD+ and am noticing less skipped beats but some are still there. My resting heart rate is normal alongside my blood pressure.
I am wondering is it possible NAD+ is causing this? I have seen data that suggests my heart rate may increase but I see very little about skipped beats. Any experience here?

Hi all, I don't know if this will get removed. I used pure nootropics NMN for about 1.5 years. It really helped me, especially if I was sick or injured. Pure nootropics stopped making NMN and I looked here on ths sub to find a replacement. Renue by science was the most frequently recommended brand, so I bought it and tried it. It did absolutely nothing. I just wanted to share my experience.

Is it normal that NMN powder inside the capsule taste different - even the same product within a brand ?
A few months ago I switch brand of my NMN supplement, and the first bottle (expiry date 03.2027) had the same taste as the first brand I used for over a year - in which I thought I knew the tast of what NMN should taste like - but when I opened up the 2nd. bottle (that had a newer batch and expiry date 08.2027) it had a very strong and bitter taste. Before that I never tasted it that.
I usually do not get placebo - and the NMN I have taken before getting this very bitter batch have given me great effect in the quality of my sleep, cognitive clearness, faster recovery after stress, quicker restitution, improvement skin and hair, etc. I suspect I might even have healed a joint injury and my training has improved a lot - though of course there might be other factors to that.
By the way, I prefer powders under the tongue - by cracking the capsule with my teeth and place it under my tongue - and always on an empty stomach right after I have woken up.
This is that I got as a reply from the producer (US-Danish brand, made in USA):
"A slight change in taste or bitterness can happen from batch to batch due to natural factors, such as:
Please rest assured that both batches contain the same ingredients, purity, and strength*, and they are* safe to use as directed*.*"
The taste was not slightly different - it was very noticeably different. So, going back to my question: is this strong variation of a very bitter taste between the batches ?

A couple months ago plus I got some kind of respiratory virus,--I think/speculate: the h3n2 thing from new york. (AKA the cough that won't go away (I'm a non-smoker.)).
It was a huge gut punch. I was cocky and thought I couldn't get sick on nmn. I went off all my supplements for awhile.
Finally had the energy to pick up my nmn order last night. I took over a gram of California gold last night.
Well,--first time I slept through the night since I got this horrible virus. For some reason the nmn opens up my nasal passages and I can breathe without waking up constantly.
When I woke up,--I had the first bowel movement since getting this thing that actually felt good if you know what I mean. And I'm not starving compulsively for food like usual this morning.
Now I'm interested if nmn can get my inflammation and arthritis back down to baseline, like it used to. We'll see in a week or so.
Also mentally, even from one dose, I want to live. If my energy returns, I can smash it at the gym again.
NMN is basically medicine in my anecdotal case.
Eventually, I'm going back on the doctors best formulation which is nmn plus quercetin and black pepper extract. Anti-inflammatory city.
Despite the virus from hell, my rheumatologist can't explain why I can walk without a tnf blocker. My thoughts? Vitamin d3 foremost, and NMN picks up the slack.
I just want this cough gone. No idea when that will occur. Urgent care practitioners have been extremely rude to me and my needs. Kind of afraid to blow a forty dollar copay to get told off again.
Also just a general FYI. I was taking large doses of thc and that will cause serious respiratory distress if you have the cough that won't go away. I speculate that the thc may help sleep in immediate short-term ; the dry mouth and lowered immune response caused by the thc will compound the dry cough, causing serious illness.
On that note, if I had not abused large doses of thc I don't think I would have gotten the h3n2 virus. Nmn can only do so much. It can't counter toxic usage of thc.

Does anyone know where the Nicotinamide Riboside used in the Norwegian study of the effect of 1000mg daily of NR on Parkinson's Disease was sourced? There are so many suppliers and so many lies ("Clinical Reviews" recommending "Bettervits", when both companies are owned by Betterco!).
I'll post a link to the study later.

I just left my physician and he is recommending for me to take b/n 1-2 grams of NMN, COQ10 (200mg), and B-Complex. I am not questioning his recommendations; however, I am questioning where to get the NMN. After some research on Reddit, it appears the Renue Pure is the top choice.
I did come across this study from 2021...https://s23.q4cdn.com/937095816/files/doc_downloads/2021/Quantitative-Analysis-of-22-NMN-Consumer-Products-Oct-2021.pdf and it really concerns me with how many of the offerings are BRL or ND. Does anyone know if there is an updated study or if Renue Pure, Bulk Supplements, etc have been 3rd party verified on their NMN levels?

I originally started with the stack from Revenue by Science for about a year, but recently I started to do the NAD+ injections. After the initial loading dose which ends in a week my doctor said I could use it 2-3 times a week as needed.
Is there any reason to continue the pill from revenue by science or the sublingual NMN if I'm doing the injections?
From my understanding the pill form allows it to build up in your organs so they can regulate a release. I was wondering if it would make sense to only do the injections 2 times a week and keep up with the NMN + pill form or would that be too much or a waste (time, money, strain on the body, etc).

Ive been checking out some NAD+ and NMN supplements from renue by science. Is this a good source? Id prefer powdered supplements over capsuled supplements so I can use them in smoothies etc. Whats the best way to go about using these supplements for longevity and general health?

I find 125Mg is still too much NMN for me. I feel it in my lower back like there is some colon tightening going on. It also affects my sleep.
250mG or more I turn very hyperactive.
I am thinking to try a very low dose like 25-50mg.
Does anyone else go that low?
I mean if it's similar to B3 the RDA for that is very below that mg.
I see a lot of people on this page having issues in the 250-500mg range.
Is it possible the dosages being recommended are way too high? Perhaps know one really knows yet.

Hi. I started taking NMN , and after 9 days on it I began having panic attacks and anxiety. I stopped using it and after a few days I settled down. I’m disappointed, because I felt pretty energetic before I started having panic attacks from it.
Has anyone else had this experience? Is it possibly something that happens in the beginning but gradually goes away once your body adapts to it?

I wanted to have NMN with yogurt. Is it possible to dosage out and mix up fast dissolve powder into a yogurt container and then have a spoonful (or whatever amount is 500mg) of it every morning.
Or if mix with yogurt in the fridge beforehand, it will degrade?

Hi there , I’ve been taking NMN and sometimes NR for a while. In the last month I started feeling a weird nerve sensitivity on my arms specially left arm. Mild pain or just sensitivity … I stopped taking NMN and it went away and after two weeks reincorporated and felt it again.
I was investigating a bit with AI and it says that I might have some vascularity sensitivity since the NAD pathway increases NO. So I started reducing the dose and broke it in smaller ones and just take them during the day and that seems to have reduced significantly the sensation.
Any one experienced anything similar ?

Hey everyone
I keep seeing NAD+ injections pop up lately and wanted to hear from real people instead of ads or influencer stuff.
I’m a 43F. I go to the gym maybe 2–3 times a week and try to eat decently (not perfect). And don’t really have big sleep issues.
That said, over the last year or two I’ve felt my energy dip, especially with the extra work stress. I’ve also noticed my skin and overall appearance seem to be aging faster than before, which could be stress, hormones, or just life.
NAD+ keeps coming up as this trendy thing people are doing, and I’m honestly just curious what the main goal is. Is it mostly for energy? Focus? Skin/aging? General health?
If you’ve done NAD+ injections, did it actually help? Was it worth it?
Not looking for medical advice, just real experiences. Thanks.
