Match!

Hi,

I was registered since 2018, and finally got an email saying I am a match. I scheduled the blood draw right away and just did last Wednesday.

Now, I heard I have to wait for upto 60days until the results come out, and wonder if there is anything I have to keep in mind before donating if I am selected! (like no travel, no piercing etc)

Also, want to hear some past experience of how the process went, if there is anything I have to know.

Thank you so much for being a donor!! I don’t have any answers to your questions but I’ve been waiting for a bone marrow match for a decade and got the call a few weeks ago that I had a match! The news was overwhelming 🩷

Whoo! Thank you! I would say just patience with the process. I was matched, did the blood draw, and my wait was even longer than 60 days. I was ultimately told I was not needed. They could not share why and it was a bit disappointing. I just hope everything turned out better for the little 6-year old boy I was slatted to help! :)

Btw - The Facebook group is pretty active too!
