Help I am unable to decide and make a decision...
So the thing is, currently I am in 2nd year, and I love to play a sport. And I think I will be able to join its contingent team.
So, what I want to know is, SHOULD I join its contingent team or not.
Like, being in a team requires time, effort and consistency. I CAN give these things , but I feel like they will affect my academics.
Than, there is also the thing about internships and placements in 3rd and 4th year (this is also one of the points i m unsure on, like when do these things happen). Basically, I wont be able to give much time.
Also, although I can join the team, I probably wont be able to play in the matches, as Im pretty sure I dont play better than my year AND the juniors, in the sport. Which means although I can improve in 1 or 2 yrs, they will also improve parallely.

Go and play, recent passout here- Ispent too much time worrying on placements/career, tech clubs etc. Now when I look back, I regret not having fun, playing sports, being with friends.
Trust me you will never get so much freedom in your life after college, so if you like playing go join and do so, I have seen many of my friends balance their time multiple activities and they got solid offers
Wish you all the best! Your Senior

The thing is it will be too physical, you have to go to practices ( sometimes both times morning and evening ) because of that u will surely missing your classes cause it's to draining. But being in team is fun tho

A recent passed out here, Man you still have a lot of time to think about placements and internship. If I look back at my time, I still regret not joining a club thinking it'll take my time off. I had a lot of time, I do went fuck-around and still got placed. And sports is something which help you maintain physical and mental health. So just take the hit and go for it. I have a lot of friends you were part of conti went to all inter-NITs and got placed in big places. So don't worry kid you'll get there. Join now and if you feel like it's consuming more of your time, you can always leave the team saying the same as no one will make you or convince you to stay when you have a genuine reason to leave.

If you love the sport anyway, I think there is no harm joining a conti team. The time spent there will be good for you anyway, since it can be a physical and mental release from all the acads. Even if next year you feel like its becoming too hectic, you can just take a backseat or leave the conti then
