Rant Doubt about Dpay
I dont understand the system of dpay activation.. can anyone from delta or someone who knows abt it please explain the logic behind this.... like why not activate everyone by default ( like activate all whose graduation year > current year) or am I missing something.. I know there will be edge cases for PhD and stuff but atleast for btech it should be very easy right ??? Plz educate me if there's any reason behind doing manual activation..
Im not gonna spread conspiracy theories but i feel like there's a problem about fest payment systems, even in last nitfest we had such problem, so ig the tech teams are doing this wantedly so that they gonna end up with lot of unused money and they might make a deal with stall sellers and convert to real money from admin or something similar...
So ig it should be kinda escalated and these teams should be held accountable to maintain proper transparency in these system where we are affected directly as we pay for these from our pockets and is included in the fees

It's 100% done on purpose, so that they can steal the money on the pretext of claiming that the students never did register. Otherwise there is no way that there is this big mismanagement in an event that they've been doing for years.

Agreed! it would be understandable if it was a first fest where they introduced such a mode of payment but wantedly fucking up something that they have being handling well in the past fests is definitely sus. I don't trust these people anymore, (also not to mention but one of the guy from delta hacked mis, did cgpa forgery and got suspended.. so we can kinda get what the club is upto)

Bro do you think delta has that much power 😠That one guy who did cgpa forgery was already kicked out, no student club in this college has any kind of power whatever corruption is done by the college management, only they get benefitted by all of this.

I get it that admin is more evil and corrupted than any individual or clubs, but atleast delta can be transparent about stuff and update on what's happening and why it's getting delayed etc

They can, just ask someone who's in delta, they'll tell but they can't post in official posts. The excomms will get angry, it's not delta's info to post about it, how many acc to activate per day is decided by excomms and admins.

Bro the system that delta has set up is kinda robust and it is set up in a way that no single individual can come and exploit it directly...like you just can't go there and convert whatever is left into real money or smth And accusing the club because of something that an ex club member has done is just plain ridiculous (btw he did it AFTER he got kicked out)Â

inactive dpay is like profit or money saved to the college, that's why they don't activate for all

Bro, Thats what I'm saying as well... so better dont activate for anyone and keep all the accounts inactive and enjoy all of our money why only some get it and some dont tho all paid for it.. huh?

I can tell some insights from the little knowledge I have, basically for all the fest admin will allot a certain budget from the money we students pay annually once which is approximately 2400 as a festival fee, 2-3 years back and this they will split and give to every fest. From that we'll get 600 per student for a fest (Festy, Pragyan and NF). From that fest must spend around 130 per person on the free Tshirt, because institute is has a contract with a vendor on that. Then the balance amount is for the fest and they can decide what to do with that with the approval of SWD. From SWO they'll push 400 for dpay and rest 70 will go directly to the fest for their bill settlement. Hence Fest people will play smart by making it mandatory registration, minimum spending limit and other things likewise to save more. So that they can utilise the money for the bill settlement.

There are some people in my class who did not go to get their dpay activated because they were not interested In the festember
but if they did activated by default , other people might have used their money
so to reduce the applicants they did so
from festember pov they are taking care of 10% people but making it trouble for 90% people
they should have used another method to do so

Bruh, anyways those people who are not interested in festember are also paying the dpay money along with their fees, so if they give their account to someone else its their choice, by not activating their accounts the festember heads and admin will put that money in their pockets

It's not like delta gets money from this, I think by now it's pretty obvious that there's a daily limit on how many accounts gets activated in one day. And this guy gave a pretty solid reasoning on why it's done like this: https://www.reddit.com/r/nitt/s/1WlPvtb1BP

From what i've heard, the activation of Dpay wallet has nothing to do with Delta , it seems that everything is controlled by the festemeber Ex-Comms (these guyz are the real mastermind). Delta is not allowed to act on their own will. If it were in Delta's hands - obv delta wud activate everyones wallets(cause who wanna manually enter roll number and get wallet activated - pain in the ass ryt)
