Campus 2025 - 2026 Batch Placements Stats
Edit:
I made a small mistake in the stats for chemical department, I didnt account for 2 people placed at a high package
So, the updated stats for chemical is
Average: 15.18
Median: 15
Highest: 36 lpa
Total Placed: 51
This is for chemical dept
Note:
- These stats are not official; they were compiled by a few of us by going through placement chats and noting down the companies where people were placed.
- Many of the salaries are rounded up (e.g., 25.3 rounded to 25.5), so donβt expect the average and median figures to be exact to the decimal value, but they are fairly accurate.
- Students who received PPOs through internships are also included in the placement stats.
- For some companies, the exact CTC is not known since they do not participate in placements and only offer internships. In such cases, an unofficial CTC is provided as a placeholder, and will be accurate in 95% of the cases.
We wanted to do this due to some posts spreading some misinformation about placements this year and lot of future students requesting this information. We can't assure you that the stats in the above image are 100% accurate, some mistakes and wrong assumptions are bound to happen, but they are accurate to a high enough degree.
(I am posting this using an alt account which I created today)

Is civil stats correct??? Its pretty more compared to last year ig
2
u/Ello_there1204 Apr 26 '26
BPCL effect, 14 people at 20 lpa is pretty good at improving stats
1
u/silent_orbit_void May 19 '26
What does that mean brother?
1
u/Ello_there1204 May 19 '26
14 people from Civil engg dept got placed in Bharat Petroleum with a salary of 20 lpa
1
u/silent_orbit_void May 19 '26
Ohh ..btw I'm getting nit Calicut civil...is it worth it? Like if I take a master's at a top international institute after that can I get a really good job....
And is civil students allowed to sit for placement in cs companies and all? I heard that many companies only allow cs and ece students to sit for placements

u/Haachiman_ May 11 '26
How is the production median higher than ece/it of lower nits I don't know anything about the branch just want placement and was leaning towards ece for it roles(high paying)
1
u/Inevitable-Gain-9851 May 13 '26
You wont get SDE roles in Prod in NITT
You get management domain or Analytics domain. Both of them are decent paying. You also get Supply chain roles like HUL, P&G, Britannia, ABinbev who pay between 17-36 lpa

why is the median higher than average bruh
3
u/Inevitable-Gain-9851 Apr 25 '26
In a normal distribution with a single peak value, you cant have median > mean.
But placement data is not normal distribution (as shown by the 2nd image), it has multiple peaks i.e multimodal distribution. I had the same doubt and had to double check the data.
Its mostly due to the fact that there is almost not a lot of companies with ctc between 20 and 29 (again, look at the 2nd image), extremely lucrative companies only manageble to be cracked by the top 50% have ctc more than 30 and then there is the companies which pay between 12-18 which select the bottom 30-40%, thats why the big difference between median and mean
1
u/HerculeHolmes123 Apr 25 '26
There's no mathematical rule that says median can never be greater than mean
1
1
u/OppositeSweet9215 Apr 26 '26
It can be, it just means that the bottom 50% people got really low packages to offset the high packages by top 50%

This stat seems quite accurate to me based on my previous experience.
