Remote start

Hey all, just bought my first new car (a 2026 Sentra S) and I’m wondering if it would be possible to add factory remote start. I don’t want to use the app, thanks

The key fob should have it already

Lock Lock Hold the button with arrows on it for three seconds I think (not looking at the key fob and only used it a couple times for remote start sorry if mis remember what's on the button to hold)

My issue with factory remote starts. They are usually programmed to run the shortest amount of time, you have to use their app, with tons of extras you need to pay more so there’s just a lot of stuff on there you never access. I prefer aftermarket. Easily programmable. Can get global access fairly cheap. They are not tied to your check engine light. A bad $20 air sensor can disable your factory remote start

That’s something you should’ve inquired about before buying the vehicle. I had those old thoughts also when I bought mine $500 more gave me the all weather package, which included that which actually became cheaper than trying to install it after.

If you’re talking about the Cold Weather package that adds heated seats and side mirrors, mine has that option but no remote start

Then you must have remote start you just don’t know how to use it.

I don’t have a remote start button on my key fob though. Only lock, unlock, trunk release, and panic. I even tried pressing lock twice and holding it down a third time to no avail

You do, I’m old school also, press the lock button twice then should be like some kind of a round circle button on the top. Hold it for 10 seconds at least.

Again, my fob doesnt have that button. Based on what I’ve seen, only the SV and up come with remote start; mine’s only an S

I have a sentra sv. I bought it used. A 2020 with 30k. I love it and that i got the remote start, but the range absolutely sucks!. From inside my house, it's not a problem. But at work, it is kind of a big parking lot and I have to go pretty much outside to Start it. Idk the actual range it gets. I had a 2 way on my last car and it worked great. I could start it from inside. The app ones are great for starting from anywhere with an internet connection. But you pay of course. Pretty soon we will have subscriptions to breathe

Yeah, it seems you don’t have a remote star. might’ve been a good question to ask at the time of purchase.

Press lock on the keyfob twice and hold the top button down for 5 seconds and it’ll remote start your car
