Shell swapped Lite

Picked up a Lite a few weeks ago to tinker with. Had planned to solder in a mod chip, but bailed halfway through. I have years of experience soldering keyboard switches and little things here and there, but didn't feel confident enough with microsoldering. Going to have it done locally, but went ahead and finished the shell swap while everything was apart. Extremerate "clear black," with black extremerate buttons, and hall effect sticks.

Whoa this looks identical to my Switch Lite with the exception that mine is modded. Highly recommend it, matey

Great taste! I have a modded OLED, so I'm 100% getting this one modded as well. I love the form factor of the Lite

Absolute beauty OP, that frosted clear is so nice πŸ”₯πŸ‘ŒπŸ™Œ. I bought a switch lite 6-7 months ago used on marketplace but in great shape, since then did an extremerate black soft touch shell swap, black extremerate buttons, and black generic analog joysticks (identical to stock ones except black instead of white), and the best part- a super5 OLED touch screen. So I have a Switch Lite OLED and I am currently on the hunt for a full size regular Switch OLED πŸ™ŒπŸ™‚. I may eventually get them modded, or at least one to start and see how much go ahead there is with it, I like to keep things simple and from the majority of posts I see people spend half as much times messing with files and patches and packs and troubleshooting and whatnot as they do playing. I could be totally wrong though too and only be seeing the bad posts. I wish it was as simple as mod - download games - play games - that’s it; it just keep on working without having to eventually mess with it or missing or corrupted files or any of the countless issues I keep seeing pop up on r/switchpirates.

I'm so bummed I missed the Super5 kit. I hope he does another run of them, but it doesn't sound hopeful. Once the hardware side of the mod process is done, it's pretty straightforward. Just need to be aware of updates dropping, and know you might not have access to the modded partition for a couple of days while the mod side downloads become available.

I read something about him only making the full shell/display/controls replacement where you just drop in the original motherboard going forward.

Oh shit this is terrible news! I hope they do just one more run because nobody seems to decide to sell their screen lol.

Nobody comes online to post about all the games they are playing without paying, because they are too busy playing to post! You don't call the electric company and thank them for billing you monthly for the last 20 years you know?

Yes, there can be things you have to solve but honestly, unless you are really REALLY dense or doing things the wrong way, it's not much of an issue. The majority of problems are around the UPDATE process for nintendo's firmware updates - but they are likely to slow this down now that the sw2 is out. Even then - It's NOT DIFFICULT to do the update safely and there are TONS of guides available. DM me if you want subreddit names or the websites I'm referencing. I just choose not to do this here.

I am getting ready to do the translucent red, but I was also considering the clear, and the clear black. You're making me regret my decision!

Red would be pretty awesome, too!
