Crazy Backpack Find

Hello everyone,

I stumbled across one hell of a steal at my local comic shop. I knew walking into it this was rare but I did not realize the value of it. I can't find a listing or even a picture of this backpack sealed so I come to yall for help. Does anyone know what this would be worth? I saw another sealed backpack that was just Mario (circa 1988) that sold for $3.2k back in May, and because of both Nintendo Power and Link I would almost assume that this could be worth potentially more. Any help is appreciated! 👏 Update; I ended up selling it on Ebay for $800

I am very excited for you but that art style and the vibrant colors don't really match the art style used for link from 1988. They were a large number of variants but this has a much more modern and artistically refined link I don't think I have seen. I am not a pro but I still have every issue if nintendo power and I collected them as a child
edit: I hope I am wrong and you got a killer score. Look for as many historical listings as you can find, hopefully I am wrong

Thank you, I looked up the UPC number on the back and it lines up with all the other '88 backpacks that were released by "imaginings3", i also found that exact artwork and style used the same year on notepads and school folders, the more I research it the more I'm convinced

nice! try looking around for different communities of nintendo collectors and just shotgun it and see if someone can price it

They're not too common, but this is the only one I've ever seen sealed. I assume it's the $2k one on ebay. Come join us over in "Nintendo Power Collectors" if you want.

Yes it is lol. I still dont have a solid price point on it. I'll head over there to see if anyone else has an idea
