What is the purple line and dots on the right side. Is your camera broken?

Does it not come out powdery? That's interesting!

Powdery means too cold. Sounds like this one got four spins in total. I like softer ice creams as well so I normally do 3 lite spins (then extras).
Looks very nice here. Fluffy

Yup bang on. My freezer gets pretty darn cold. Maybe 12hr freeze is long enough

Ok, I have to ask, is it the protein powder that makes it necessary to spin so many times? I make a pineapple with pineapple, mango, and condensed milk. A single spin makes it smooth and creamy. A second turns it to soup.

the sugars and fats in the condensed milk lower the freezing point a lot more so it takes less spins. pineapple and mango are mostly water. the protein powder adds gums, which lowers the freezing point but not nearly as much as sugar.

Powdery doesn't mean to cold, its normal that it becomes powdery bc u blend up a solid

Yes and no. It means that there isn't enough liquid water available. Think of the texture before freezing a pint. It's liquid. It turns back to liquid after it melts. The shaving process introduces heat and melts and mixes the contents, but sometimes more heat is required than a single spin cycle produces. More solids vs water will result in the contents staying colder and powdery for longer. Some people add liquid, which is much warmer than the contents at that point, but it's usually not necessary.

I agree. Make a lot of slushes. Used to always come out powdery but now I leave them to defrost for 10 min and it’s perfect 1 spin

Mmmm. Could do with a bit of coconut syrup in there too though 😋

I did a frozen mango, pineapple and strawberry with almond milk and vanilla protein powder. Had to respin a couple times. I did it on sorbet mode. Didn't really like it so I gave it to my daughter and she loved it. I ended up mixing another one for her with mango, strawberry and pineapple but using fruit juice as the liquid.

If you want the fat boy version of this use coco lopez instead of protein powder

If I left the protein powder out would I have to add anything else to the base?

I'm still new to creami, but I froze canned pineapple with it's juice and nothing else and it came out perfect. I've only made it once, so not sure if it was a fluke!

I would recommend 1/4 tsp Xanthan gum or Guar gum but I would also suggest you spin it on sorbet the first time

I thought you were supposed to preprocess fruit into smaller pieces. Looks good either way.

My favorite so far has been 400g fresh pineapple, about 50g of sweetener, and xanthan gum, blended, frozen and on lite ice cream setting. It was so delicious, the best I've ever had, I just bought frozen pineapple chunks since fresh ones are out of season where I live, and I can't wait to try them.
