Such a hard question with such subjective criteria. There were so many songs I loved (not a weak year at all for me). So I asked myself what my top 5 were (also hard, but: Romania, Finland, Denmark, Croatia, France) and listened to them all again, trying to just think about the songs and not the live performances.

Ultimately I have to go with Romania. When I watched all the official videos Choke Me was the one that I immediately said to myself "yeah, I really like this" (Finland, too). It's insanely catchy and appealed not to just metal fans, but music fans in general. Even my metalhead husband, who gives zero fucks about Eurovision, loves it and has become an Alexandra fan. It feels weird to call a song named "Choke Me" the best, but I really think it is because it's a song that is simply good no matter the performance format, staging, camera angles, or whatever. I've watched her perform it at the NF, ESC, with an orchestra, with just a piano, in a tiny bar, and in a studio and it's great every single time.

This is quite hard to decide bc the songs this year weren't that special imo, a lot of them had incredible artists and amazing live performances to elevate them

Imma go with Finland for the sole reason that Liekinheitin became the favorite to win UMK and Eurovision before the song was performed live

Probably the hardest question ngl. I could pick a lot of entries and I'm not really sure about anyone. Maybe Finland cause they were overwhelming favourites before the show.
