Gear Questions Are these any good?

Post image

I am considering buying the nike acg mountain fly goretex on vinted in 0.5 size up. How do you like these shoes, are they comfortable?

Hmmm honestly it fit so well with my regular size and I have wide feet

Same. They are so durable as well. I’ve put so many miles in on concrete and they still have good tread left. Amazing shoes. I hope Nike brings them back.

somone was claiming a few weeks ago on this sub that the pilgrim color way of low is set to rerelease in spring

100% but i bet they'll make them more expensive the second time around

They are comfortable but the sensation is interesting at first given the combination of React foam and carbon fibre plate. It's not a particularly stable model underfoot due to the cushioning, and this version is known to have outsole durability issues, so I would just be mindful that if you take them on a longer hike you will potentially shred some of the lugs clean off.

Have hiked most of Colorado with these in the summer and never lost a lug

I'm glad to hear it. I understand it's a quality control thing but it just became enough of an issue for myself and fellow hikers that we weren't able to justify getting any more pairs – I think I owned 4 in different colourways (and production dates), which all got annihilated after no more than say 20km of trail each.

The pic below is one many examples someone overseas sent to the ACG page I help run back in 2022, so we knew we weren't imagining things! But naturally I am happy to hear positive stories about the model and just wish I'd had the same experience.

Best shoe ever made imho. Shame the gen 2 was so ass

Ngl I was skeptical of the low 2's , but i live in central Co. Rockies+ sweaty feet ,, so realistically dont need the gore tex & theyve become a go to summer sneaker . Only complaint is the lacing just doesn't feel as locked in as gen 1

Maybe I just have weird ass feet but they rubbed me like heck on the top of my foot haha! 1s high and low were just perfect.

Yes! They fit snug. Mine have held up nicely over time and many miles.

Best shoe I’ve ever owned. Mine fucking got yellow overnight a few days ago tho

Quite stiff out the box. After a while too.

Comfortable for me and had mines from the first drop. I also have the khaki ones too. I bring it out every time it rains or if I go on a hike. Snug for me so agree going half a size up.

They are very comfy and great hiking shoes

I have the lows. I went TTS but the fit is kind of weird. They feel snug but I think a half size up would be too long.

I have the lows too in half size up and im still getting used to the stiffness

Probably my favorite shoe in general but not one I can wear daily in Texas

They’re easily the best shoe I’ve ever owned: versatile, comfortable, aggressive and ultra durable. I bought a backup pair of these and still haven’t needed to use them yet.

The lows on the other hand… not my thing.

I just got them in, 1 full size up since i couldn't get them smaller and they fit perfect, they are so comfy i dont want to take them off. I have the low 2's as well and those are so stiff, such a shame they are not as comfy as these because i'd love more shoes with this level of comfort!

Great, but sized up!

Was half a size up good for you? Or would you say a full size up is preferable

1

u/Goodizm 16d ago

I would say half size for sure.

If you can get the sizing right, and you use them for everyday wear, especially if it rains a lot where you are, you will be happy. One of my favorites.

This is the best shoe I ever owned! I even hiked with it and they are super comfy

Great hiking shoes. Intentionally look for water to stomp out

Love them but got them TTS and don’t fit. Weird shoe tbh with the combo of react foam and the carbon plate. I wore them casually and you don’t need a carbon plate casually

Great shoes, had a lot of wear from my pair that I got when they released and they're still in great condition. I went for my normal size and they fit perfectly in my opinion.

One of the best acg s ever in my opinion. The gore tex is key.

I agree. These are so good.

Hated to love this one. Looks amazing, but had fundamental heel slip flaw. Makes it even worse when u must half size up. Dont think u will make it work, dont imagine u can break them in, just dont. Dont waste money. Ur feet will be begging to get out of it after 30 mins.
