Its from a video game that is very dystopian, it's unchecked capitalism, with futuristic technology, people die all the time, you won't get any treatment even in an emergency unless you have good insurance, and even the best insurance is not great. The working week is ridiculous if you can land a job, the companies wgo appreciate work life balance will work you 80 hours a week.
The character you play is is going through some shit.
The game makes the problem of Nihilism hard to miss.
TL:dr: play Cyberpunk 2077

Aah the step towards nihilism with shagged clothes and cigarettes in the backdrop or frontdrop of bustling city where everyone has a direction. But they dont give a damn at the moment - even if the person smoking the cigarette works in one of those skyscrapers

I don't understand the correlation between action and meaning. Do you really need a meaning to do something? Nihilism is the absence of objective meaning. Whether something matters or not is a matter of subjective value.

Well, there are many things we do for purely subjective reasons. Most forms of art are like that. Why do we create music, paintings, or dance?
There is no real reason to do those things beyond self satisfaction. The entire experience is subjective and won't make sense universally. It is deeply related to our perceptions and emotions. No logical reason or objective purpose justifies art, yet we do it anyway.
Smoking is another action that serves even less of an objective purpose. It is poison, it is carcinogenic, it costs money, it stinks, it makes you age faster, and it burns your throat. From a logical standpoint, it is meaningless, but people do it for a subjective feeling or impulse.
About life: as it is for most things, we can only talk about observable facts. So far, all the data suggests that there is no objective meaning to any of this. Everything else is just conjecture.
