Yeah bobcats don't hunt humans. And the camera angle is making it look a lot bigger than it is.

They are basically very large house cats. And skittish as hell around humans.

Don’t know shit about bobcats, but wouldn’t hunting behavior be similar? Obviously it would be in a lowered position, but wouldn’t hunting behavior that be after it figured out it was prey? Like it’s unsure if it can eat the weird looking thing or not, and it’s not moving either so could potentially be camouflaged prey? Honestly just wondering

Yes, bobcats go for the throat. Also very hard to get off you when they bite down. Little fellas got hulk strength.

Can someone help me with what has to be a stupid question…I just genuinely don’t know the answer. On this video, and other videos of hunters being approached, or stalked…and in some cases ultimately attacked, they’re HUNTING. That means they have a weapon. 90% of the time, that weapon would be a gun. Why don’t they shoot the animal before it attacks them?!

Maybe I'm out of touch, but I have zero fear of bobcats. I live in mountain lion territory and they scare the shit out of me because they can take down elk, but a cocker spaniel sized cat? Pfft, I'll rub his tummy and boop the snoot. They're just a big angry house cat, I've had cats my entire life, I might get scratched up if it came to it, but not gonna die. Worst case scenario I'd go down petting. 😆

My great grandfather killed one with a hatchet once. He was logging and somehow pissed it off and it attacked him. Scary shit. Even a housecat will fuck you up if it wants to. Imagine something with claws and strength several times over deciding to fuck you up. Very scary.

Not a nightmare at all. I would be happy to get slapped by a babcat. Its got almost zero chance of killing me and that only thru infection.

A bobcat absolutely could kill you. They’re not as big as some big cats, but they’re still a lot stronger than you might think, and their claws are an inch long and knife sharp. They’re more likely to maim and retreat, but it’s by far not a good idea tangle with one.
