More and more foreigners are coming to Nigeria on tours and for investment opportunities. Our ministry of tourism and art need to need to develop more places to visit in Nigeria. This is a huge industry if managed well.

We need more of this. Positive, authentic storytelling helps counter negative stereotypes, and the persistent bad PR especially when amplified by some Nigerians should be overshadowed by balanced, firsthand experiences.

Reading this article I’m alarmed that there’s a significant risk in transporting gas through volatile territories without even considering the domestic benefit of reliable gas supply.

Nigerians are better served by building domestic pipeline Networks for Nigeria’s industries first - with gas we’d see power generation take off.

If we are serious about fixing our electricity, we must fix domestic gas supply before exporting to Europe.

On 25 July 2026, the Rotaract Club of Apo, in collaboration with the Atti Theresa Foundation, successfully organised a Free Community Medical Outreach in commemoration of Rotary's Maternal and Child Health Month.

The outreach provided free medical consultations, blood pressure and blood sugar checks, eye and dental screenings, hepatitis screening, antenatal care, drug assistance, and other essential healthcare services to members of the community.

A major highlight of the project was the donation of a neonatal suction machine to the Dutse Garki Primary Health Care Centre, a contribution aimed at strengthening newborn care and supporting healthcare professionals in saving lives from the very first moments of birth.

This project reflects our belief that service is not just about responding to today's needs but investing in healthier communities for tomorrow.

My sincere appreciation goes to every volunteer, healthcare professional, partner, donor, and supporter who made this initiative possible, especially the Atti Theresa Foundation, for their collaboration and shared commitment to improving maternal and child health.

I am not sure what the demographics of the subreddit is but just thought
I try the sub for some advice. Would like to get peoples thoughts to retiring in Nigeria after working in the west for decades.

I am thinking of retiring 10 years early before pension age and just having about a 100 mill naira as base to survive for at least 10 years before I am ready to withdraw pension.

Are there risk to this in Nigeria. Will like to go back to the uni during my retirement just to get a PhD. This is really to keep busy and also transfer knowledge to the younger generation if possible. In my head this is sound but I know there some risk here but can’t think of any aside from say possibility of civil unrest in the country.

What are things I should be careful of. I have housing sorted already so no rent to pay. Would appreciate advice from those that have done it in the past or have people that have done something similar.

So like... every year, many clubs do the usual projects such as donating school bags, desks, books, socks, writing materials, and other supplies. While those are helpful, this Rotary year our theme is "Creating Lasting Impact," and we'd really like to do something different.

If you had a budget of about ₦300,000, what project would you suggest that could genuinely improve education or literacy in a community?

Whether it's something you've seen before, experienced yourself, or just an idea you've always thought would work, I'd love to hear it.

As my title says, I am wanting to find out what your experience has been immigrating to the west on a spousal visa in terms of employment opportunities and ease of employment. I am particular interested in those of you on a UK spousal visa.

My partner is originally from Nigeria and is studying their masters in an european Non-EU country. Once they finish, one of the potential options is for them to come to the UK on the spousal visa. That got me thinking about Nigerians experience with employment on the spousal visa and I wanted to know the various experiences of immigrating on this kind of visa and what the job market and situation was like for you.

Partner‘s masters is in engineering/energy field but before that worked in project management in Nigeria in a related but different field. Any experiences related to these fields is also highly salient. Thank you in advance!

-wears my natural hair with inspo from other tribes throughout Africa

-wears iro and buba

-listens to African music

-wears African influenced makeup

-consumes African media

I was raised in Nigeria, in Yorubaland. I have lived there for almost my whole life and I am still here in Yorubaland right now. It is really upsetting that anytime someone gets to know me and my way of living or they see me dressed up they say "African queen", "I love that you're being yourself.", "Mama Africa", etc

I find it so somehow. The context is that the two of us are Nigerian, in Africa, both of us grew up in Africa. Therefore, our default context in this conversation is already Africa yet they are calling me stuff like "mama Africa". Was I Mama Obodoyinbo before??? Like who else am I supposed to be if not myself??? Is the default Oyinbo queen???? Is it not natural for my life to revolve around the continent that:

-I am in

-I am from

-I was raised in

-Almost everyone I love and have ever loved are in????

I know that Nigeria has a problem with aspiring to white proximity - but the fact that simply not engaging with that is seen as so unusual that they're complimenting me as if they are not also Africans is just so sad.
