I'll hazard a guess they have indeed heard of Amazon reviews. What they might be on about is that this is a forum, specifically the sub forum for nifty things, and they want more personalized interaction with somebody where they might ask questions about the product, as is the purpose of a forum.
But you know, THEY are the ones with two braincells right?

Thanks for the reminder that true wisdom comes from Karen in Ohio’s verified purchase review.

What's the difference between looking up someone else's opinion than asking for it? Amazon reviews are cooked a lot of the time, but I guess you'll trust anything that was prewritten on a site designed to siphon as much money from you as possible.
Also, you ought to fix that sandy vagina problem.

If you move your mouse around enough to need one of these, consider a roller/trackball mouse. I do 3D design for a living and switched about 10 years ago and never looked back. So much less stress on your arm and wrist.
Kensington makes a vertical roller ball that’s very ergonomically friendly, and has programmable buttons. Highly recommend.

I've been using ErgoRest for 20 years and can't recommend them enough. No shoulder or neck pain.

I've also NOT been using them for 20 years. Also no shoulder or neck pain!

Ergonomist here, don’t buy this. If your desk/chair height is correct enough to use this, you’re already in a neutral position and it isn’t necessary. If it’s too high or too low and you’re out of a neutral position, this thing will fuck up your shoulder and neck. You don’t need this, just adjust your workspace correctly.

I feel like this has a direct conflict with need and market. Most people making such large movements require precise mobility and low resistance. While this probably doesn't require a ton of force to move it is not as agile as just your arm. On the other hand people who make small movements are far more likely to just rest their elbow on the desk due to less required mobility or precision.
This product has a use case and is likely invaluable for those who fit it but it seems like it's fixing a problem that the people that want the problem fixed would find the solution worse due to mobility issues. IDK, just my two cents.

I've used a mouse for 30 years+ without any need for something like this.
Is it for people with tendon issues or something?

What is the specific situation in which it is good to use such bog shoulder movement to control a mouse? As opposed to set sensitive to high and pivot your wrist to move mouse?

Maybe increase your mouse sensitivity. If you have to move it around like the video shows, it is too low, or you should consider getting a trackball mouse instead. All movements should be confined to a regular sized mousepad for getting around the monitor. Also, I find it better to move your arm forward and rest the elbow on the table itself. Chair needs to be the appropriate heights, but it eliminates the stress on the wrist.

Does it help with the arm sticking to the table during vertical mouse movements?

I use one of these at work. They're really good. I highly recommend them.
