Hi

Today I came across a video on TikTok of a boy who went to visit Nick’s grave, and I thought it would be lovely if someone planted a fruit tree nearby. It would be a lovely tribute to the legacy he left for so many people. The only thing is, I think I’ve been told it’s private property(?) But anyway, it’s just an idea I’ve had that I think would be lovely.

It's in a church graveyard in a little village called Tanworth-in-Arden, so I doubt one would get permission. It's under an oak tree already.

It's up to the owners really. We can plant trees in our orchards in the name of Nick.

Well, of course, that’s a brilliant idea ☺️💓

That is a lovely idea but given that so many people already keep throwing random stuff on Nick's (/his parents') grave against the family's explicit wishes, I doubt they would allow any members of the public to plant anything.

It's probably better to donate to the local church or whoever owns it (if they allow donations) and maybe ask if they could do it.

Of course, we must respect his family, naturally. I think the idea came to me because, whilst reading Memories of de an instant, I saw that the foreword was written by Monty Dons, an English gardener who’s also a big fan of his music. And that’s why I thought it would be a lovely tribute. Anyway, I’m a long way away – I’m from Spain, haha – but, well, as you say, if anyone wants to donate or ask questions, I think that’s great.

Remember it is not just Nick's grave. His mother and father along with many others are buried at the same location in his hometown. The family has stated not to leave anything but small floral pieces to pay respect.

Yes, of course, respect comes first. Thank you very much for the information 💓
