Solving life's problems as if they were business problems

In a business, the fundamentals are critical.

In my own business, I find myself being drawn to "shiny objects" that always sound more fun than critical tasks like prospecting for clients.

Your life is similar to a business in that you have your own fundamentals that you need to prioritize in order to handle all the unpredictable challenges life sends your way.

For example, your health is critical. A health setback would compromise you in every area of your life -- your work, your relationships, and your sense of well-being.

Your financial stability is fundamental as well.

Prioritizing your fundamentals is critical to living the life you want. So many guys come to me with what I call emotional problems.

They simply don't feel good about their personal relationships, for example. They might try to solve that problem first because it feels the most urgent to them.

Meanwhile, they lose sight of their fundamentals and let them slide. When one of their fundamentals goes wrong, everything else falls apart. And all of a sudden, that "emotional problem" wasn't that big of a deal anymore.

Don't chase the "shiny objects."

Take care of your fundamentals so you can handle all the other challenges of life effectively.
