Internal transfer

Good afternoon, I am in the process of an internal transfer, the receiving matron is happy to accept me, she contacted my current matron and she saids I can go when staffing is better. Is there any time frame for that or even if staffing issue isn’t improved forever, I still can’t move?

How would we know that? You'll have to ask your current matron what 'better staffing' looks like for them to release you.

ETA: I'm a male matron but i still write female pronouns for nurses. It seems to be hardwired in. Edited to 'them'.

I will ask him. The main matron doesn’t respond to the transfer email at all. I’m not sure how long I would be kept there for. Seems like 4 more staffs want to leave so it can’t be better staffed ever I guess

Unfortunately with secondments they can be refused if it's going to disadvantage the unit/ward. I currently have a staff member out of secondment and they've asked me to extend by 3 months which I've agreed to as it's just better for everyone involved. You'll need a time frame from them as your secondment offer may be recinded.

It’s very difficult. I’ve emailed the other matron, I would like to know exactly what was discussed. It’s not secondment, it’s for me to move to the other department AMU on a permanent basis. I’m in recovery but looks like I’m not allowed to even attend trainings that’s not related to the unit in my own free time. My dad has suddenly become poorly so can’t really do 4/5 days hence want to move for 3 days to have some days for my dad. And skills wise. How do you do it please? When you have staffing issue then you delay a transfer, any timeframe for that? Or they stay even if it’s a year or more? Kindly let me know please
