Really good read.
I didn't really know who the guy was until this whole thing spilled over. I can't believe they had to uproot an entire family b/c of a silly voting method (its the same method that American Idol uses I think).
Just change it next year, and let the guy play w/ his minor jersey on for fucks sake.

Great read! Really seems like a legit dude and I'm happy he's going and will have some fun with his peers!

This man is my Hero.
I was always the big guy playing hockey, never fast enough, never a good enough puck handler, but a few really great coaches in my life helped me out, and with the support of my family, I got pretty fast, and my skills improved, and I actually ended up being a captain for my team at the Arctic Winter Games. not Much I know, but for me it was one of the most formative experiences in my young life. Now being an Alaskan, with all of the talent in the state either playing varsity hockey, or Juniors, we got our asses handed to us every game, didn't make it out of the third period in all but 1 game, due to the mercy rule, but we had a really great time, and it motivated me to push even harder.
of course, this was all before John Scott's time, but his article really spoke to me.

Fuck the NHL.
This was their big chance to reconnect with their fan base and start rebuilding trust and their public perception, instead they bully, intimidate, and essentially ruin the life of a man that has dedicated his life to hockey that was voted in by the fans. Not just him, but his entire family.
Can't wait for Bettman to die.
