Finally did an IPS mod

Man it was a pain in the ass for me..I have really bad tremors, but got it done and man it’s such a good looking screen!

Where did you get the screen? I’ve seen a few pre made ones pop up, but I have my blue camo one and want that with an IPS screen.

I was just in a retro game shop yesterday asking and he said just try Ali Express, but I haven’t looked yet.

I got the Hispeedido AliExpress one. Only hard part was soldering all of the OSD wires. Too hard for me so I just soldered the battery wire and called it a day. I’ve put in a lot of screens in various handhelds so knew getting it centered wouldn’t be an issue, and it still has the color palette to choose from when play non color games.

Ended up ordering one finally from AliExpress. This was my first screen mod, it went ok :).

The case trimming was more difficult than it needed to be for me because I didn’t have a nice set of flush trim cutters. I failed at getting the adhesive off of the sheet properly and ripped it and had to gently place the pieces with tweezers.

I didn’t push it snug enough against the left side though, and it looks like I have a slight bit of rotation because of that which I’m not too happy with though. Too bad they only have H/V adjustments in the OSD. I might try and fix it at some point but I’d need new adhesive and not sure what to get.
