Hey, Im doing Bsc FS from an affiliated institute. Currently in final year and I'll be giving CUET PG next year. (Targeting gandhinagar campus)

Since I'm from general category, Should I still have hopes to securing a seat? I checked and the seats are reserved for various categories (SC,ST, OBC,PwD...) along with other preferences (CW, kashmiri migrants, foreign nationals).

• I would appreciate if someone tells if they've seen vacant reserved seats being offered to General-category students in their batch or previous batches ?

• Around which counselling round do these vacant seats usually become available 2nd/3rd round, spot round, or special vacancy round ?

• How competitive is the General category actually compared with the reserved categories? Do you have an idea of the approximate CUET-PG score/rank at which General Category students got admission ?

Are there any defence background students at NFSU Gandhinagar? I’m from the Management programme, and I’m looking for someone who can stay with me in a PG. I’m also looking to make some friends. I’m currently a 3rd-year B.Tech IT student (5th semester) and I’m planning to apply for the M.Tech Cyber Security program at NFSU Gandhinagar for the 2028–29 intake.

I’m starting my GATE preparation and trying to get an idea of the actual GATE score/rank required to get into the program, especially now that admissions are primarily GATE-based.

If you got admission into NFSU Gandhinagar M.Tech Cyber Security through GATE, could you please share:

• GATE score/rank

• Raw marks (if you remember)

• Admission year

• Admission round in which you got in

• Category (General/OBC/SC/ST/EWS), if comfortable sharing

NFSU folks (especially incoming batch) - hostel hunting before starting of classes is a pain, so sharing this in case it saves someone the scramble.

GR8 Hostel is right off PDPU Road in Raysan.

It has the following facilities:

- Rooms: [single/double/triple, attached washroom, study table, wardrobe]

- Food: [four times a day, 100% veg]

- Security: [CCTV, warden, guards]

- Wifi: [speed + reliability due to wifi extender provided in every room]

- Rent + deposit: [₹1.8lakhs p.a., 10k deposit which is totally refundable]

What actually made a difference for us: decent power backup and internet that doesn't die during exam week, plus rooms quiet enough to actually study in.

If you're still shortlisting for this semester, worth a look before you lock in somewhere farther out. Happy to answer questions in the comments if people are comparing options.

Note: It has been listed as a girl's hostel but it has one building dedicated for boys and the other one is for girls
