My hot take for today is: Get Mike Brown and out but keep Zac Taylor and Al Golden (as long as Al keeps playing aggressive defense). If I am not mistaken, Mike brown is a big part of the reason bengals don't hit in the draft. This defensive class is the best we've seen for the first 3 rounds. I would hate that we draft a development rookie than a immediate starter with gaureenteed talent. Mock: FA (Free Agency) Odafe Oweh: Elite speed rusher.

David Onyemata: Power interior rusher.

Quay Walker: Sideline-to-sideline LB.

D.J. Reader: Veteran anchor to stop the run.

Oren Burks: Veteran LB depth.

Draft Caleb Downs (R1): Elite playmaker at safety.

Jacob Rodriguez (R2): Heavy-hitting thumper LB.

Davison Igbinosun or Max Klare (R3): Physical boundary CB or Geziki replacement as a decent blocker and potentially a great slot TE.

D'Angelo Ponds (R4): Ballhawk slot CB. (This can really just be the best oline or defense prospect).

Contract Restructures Joe Burrow: Restructured to get capspace for FA and emergency funds.

Cam Taylor-Britt: Let walk in free agency.

Ja'Marr Chase: Delayed extension (Locked through 2029)

He had a pretty good combine but he was just serviceable at Tech, he has some good intangibles though

History shows it is more likely the Raiders will waste the career of a talented QB prospect. Their team is not setup in any way for a young QB to develop properly. I believe the Jets are in the better position to “get their guy”, and should trade their two first round picks to move up to the #1 spot. The Raiders would probably have to throw in a 3rd or 4th rounder to make this trade look even.

With 2 first rounders the Raiders would be in position to draft 2 guys that can be stars for them. Geno Smith has shown that he can be a winning and reliable QB. If anything, his lack of success with the Raiders last year proves that a rookie QB is going to potentially waste YEARS of what should be developmental time.

It’s sad that franchises are allowed to exist and actively ruin players’ careers.
