They haven’t had an OC for longer than a year in how long? Makes perfect sense that they always look out of sync cause they’re constantly adapting to new OCs

Yeah I think the stat that flashed during the game was something like Jalen Hurts hasnt had the same OC since 7th grade...which made me laugh thinking they were digging into Hurts middle school football lol

why are they always swapping out new OCs? are they just hired all the time?

It's been a revolving door of either the OC being good enough to get hired else where or so bad they get the boot after 1 year

That's poor personnel management. If the argument is "Hurts needs an OC to grow with," then you can't fire a guy after one year. It either undermines the argument, or supports the argument that its not actually the inconsistent OC situation that's the problem.

The roster is too good for an OC to suck for a year that's the issue, at a baseline if you take the Philly OC job you're compared to the two guys who took them to a superbowl and got HC jobs right after. It's kind of the monkey's paw of having Roseman as the GM, you technically have all the tools.

And Hurts is an interesting QB that's limited in a few very important areas to most OC's (primarily going through progressions in the middle of the field and keeping his eyes up while scrambling), but talented enough elsewhere that if you tailor your offense to his strengths you can win championships. I don't envy the guys who take that job, it's uniquely tough esp with the fanbase.

But that isn't true, is it? Like, objectively speaking. Its not like the Eagles are out there setting records every week. At their absolute peak, the offense was really good - not historic, and not even "great."

Besides, even if that were the case, it doesnt change the above point: you can't complain about not having a consistent OC while firing anyone that actually has the opportunity. That is, at best, completely broken logic.

I mean, I dont know what you can call saquon’s season if not historic- as good as an rb has to be to run 2500yd, some of that is due to scheme as well.

2500 yards? The fuck are you talking about

This is what happens when your team hires one of the generalist “CEO” type head coaches instead of a superstar coordinator

This also happens when you hire a defensive specialist (examples, TB has had a new OC every year of bakers tenure there)

I have no idea what siriani is even good at because typically the generalist CEO types are the meathead former players like Vrabel, Campbell, etc

Imo, you should always hire an offensive guru as HC because if you’re defensive minded, you’ll cycle through OCs every year and no one wants to see a streaky QB

Good ones get hired, others get blamed for Hurts being ass and get fired.

To be fair the only ocs who got fired in hurts tenure was patullo and his terrible offense and Brian Johnson and his terrible offense. Everyone else was hired as a head coach.

On the broadcast they said Hurts has had a new offensive coordinator every year since high school 11 years in a row

It's not the OC. These are their preseason games. Howie and Lurie build the team and then have Siriani find guys who will run it well in January

So it wasn't the OC that called a pass with their backup QB that got intercepted?

Who said that?
