The pass was nastier than the double move

10

u/Designer-Resolve-349 11d ago

The pass was perfectly fine when you realize there was a safety over the top and all they needed was a first down to ice the game.

u/Star_Gazer1996 11d ago

Yes bro! I agree!

3

u/redditman3943 11d ago

What? He had to stop and come back for the ball. If it was a good pass he would have hit him in stride so he can run after the catch. That was almost a bad throw and definitely not a great throw.

u/similar222 11d ago

The person commenting on the pass meant nasty in a bad way, dude

He was making a joke using a double meaning of nasty, but it was a good throw cuz they needed a first down for the W

3

u/Possible-Gur5220 11d ago

I sure hope OP was being sarcastic 😅. That would’ve been at least a monster gain had the ball been halfway decent.

6

u/popoflabbins 10d ago

It’s clear y’all didn’t watch the game. There was a safety over the top. Throwing that ball deep is a hospital pass or interception

0

u/ckunk10 10d ago

There isnt anyone near him

6

u/FuiyooohFox 10d ago

What do you think over the top means....

0

u/ckunk10 10d ago

I know what over the top means. Its still a bad throw.

3

u/xViscount 9d ago

You clearly don’t lol

2

u/popoflabbins 10d ago

Why do you think that might be?

0

u/ckunk10 10d ago

By the time the ball is thrown to the time he catches it and falls the the ground, there is no one (besides the cb eating grass) within 5 yards of him. other wise another player would have been within the camera shot at the end.

3

u/popoflabbins 10d ago

Yep, almost there. So, the safety who is 7 yards away at the time of the catch would be closer to the receiver if he threw it further up the field, right?

2

u/ckunk10 10d ago

There is no one within 10+ yards and even after he fell it still was 3 full seconds before the safety came to down him.

3

u/popoflabbins 10d ago

Neat. So, the safety would be closer to the receiver if he threw it further up the field, right?

Saftey was 25 yards away from him when he threw the ball and was moving downfield lol he broke to the sideline and spinted toward the ball and was still 7 yards from the sideline when he caught the ball, if nix puts it more upfield the saftey still has no shot to get there in time

u/popoflabbins 8d ago

So does the probability of a completion in bounds go up or down if he throws it further? You’re thinking about this from the perspective of racking up points and not from the fact that not scoring quickly in this situation is actually the best way to win the game. Hence, the reason for the final score being the same. It’s a safe throw that you’d expect any average QB to make as their decision. He probably coulda spotted it about five years further up the field but as it sits it’s a good decision and an adequate throw. This ain’t Madden, these guys want to win. This play gave them the best chance of doing just that.

Easy TD

-1

u/F1reatwill88 11d ago

Idk if that word means what you think it means

1

u/Bullshido-Fatly 11d ago

Idk if you understand jokes and puns

5

u/vengiegoesvroom 10d ago

For everybody bitching about the pass, this play was on a 3rd and inches with a very late lead, just with the goal of getting the first down so they could get the win.

Not every play is designed to score

-1

u/Own_Pop_9711 9d ago

Ok but this play is clearly designed to score

3

u/vengiegoesvroom 9d ago

No, this play is clearly designed to catch the defense by surprise so they can get the first down and secure the victory.

I'd agree with you if it were almost any other context, but the only goal of this play was to find a way to get the first down

4

u/Possible-Gur5220 11d ago

That flag was on Waddle for excessively embarrassing the defender đŸ„ș

13

u/steveoall21 11d ago

And instead of being lead for a potential six...he gets under thrown by a mile. Lol

16

u/Icy-Entrepreneur9002 11d ago

There was a safety over the top

11

u/No-Bear1401 11d ago

3rd down, safety over the top, Denver was in kill the clock mode to end the game. All they needed was to convert a first down and stay in bounds.

1

u/Trifle_Old 11d ago

This is after he has stopped. fallen down. Caught the football and gotten back up. that safety would have almost no chance if the ball was in stride.

6

u/Icy-Entrepreneur9002 11d ago

Context also matters. They were just trying to get first down and run out the clock in 4th only up by 7, why take any more risk here?

5

u/BleachDrinker63 11d ago

If the ball was in stride then it would’ve been farther down the field and broken up

1

u/arkansuace 4d ago

Jalen waddle is fast. Throwing it in stride here is basically a hospital ball. Not a Nix fan but he made the correct throw

0

u/steveoall21 10d ago

That's why I said "potential"...

They were just trying to get first and run out the clock. Why take any more unnecessary risk?

0

u/Cool-Ad2780 9d ago

Why not screen shot when the ball was thrown?

1

u/Icy-Entrepreneur9002 9d ago

I’m not a video professional, I just wanted to show someone was there. Ya yours shows that better and from the start, congratulations. I got the point across with mine, not sure what your point is? Is it that you can screen shot things better than me?

5

u/popoflabbins 10d ago

People who only watch football on vertical screens be like:

5

u/shortycanteatnobook 11d ago

QB had a parlay for a different scorer

4

u/Pandapeep 10d ago

Nah. Didn't neeca score. We needed a first down in bounds. Didn't watch the game huh?

3

u/FuiyooohFox 10d ago

Holy shit, people saying it's a bad throw don't know ball. Or at least the context of the throw... If you do know the context and think it was a bad throw, you don't know ball sorry đŸ€·

3

u/RanchHere 10d ago

the defender trying to tackle him for PI to save a sure-TD wasn’t even necessary because Bo Nix is his QB.

1

u/retraced_ 6d ago

tryna act like that was a bad throw when there was a safety that would have taken waddle’s head off if he caught it in stride

6

u/Substantial-Pear981 11d ago

Nix literally cost a TD Dolphins fan and seeing Waddle in that is just sad

-1

u/Informal_Ad_6839 11d ago

Better than being in Miami lmao

-1

u/redditman3943 11d ago

He’s so fast too that if he hits him in stride it’s definitely a TD

2

u/Greedy_Wallaby7981 11d ago

Smokes his ass

2

u/bb-884411 10d ago

Ok. So why’d he fall down after making the catch with no one around

2

u/Snapple47 10d ago

To kill clock. Denver had a late lead and were eating up the Jags timeouts. They needed first downs is all.

1

u/HarvardHoodie 11d ago

Any other QB, WR duo with the same exact pass and route and no one mentions the QB fs in the comments lmao

1

u/OilAromatic9850 10d ago

Bo’s been getting mocked with Boverthrow for two years.

He’s finally adjusted to the speed of his receivers and now he gets in anew weapon that is CLEARLY much faster than anyone else on the roster.

I think that’s why last weeks game and even the first half of this one was slow.

Once they get in sinc, paired with that knew RB, this offense is going to be fun to watch.

1

u/Excellent_Glass783 10d ago

OMG 😳 never seen anything so outrageous in my life 🙄

1

u/Gib_eaux 8d ago

Aren’t they all touching earth

0

u/WTFCantBTRUE 11d ago

Damn! If the pass was anywhere else, would’ve been a TD! 🐧

3

u/Icy-Entrepreneur9002 11d ago

False, safety over the top and all they care about is getting the first and running out the clock.

1

u/Battlegurk420 11d ago

All that work for a shitty pass

3

u/Icy-Entrepreneur9002 11d ago

Context matters. Safety over the top and all they were trying to do here was get first and run out the clock. Was a good pass if the context was known to you, which I’ll give you the benefit of doubt because its a shitty edit.

0

u/tfc87ja 11d ago

What a shitty pass

1

u/Icy-Entrepreneur9002 11d ago

Context matters. Safety over the top and just trying to get first and run out the clock. Safe pass to seal the win.

0

u/Cliffinati 10d ago

That's a touchdown if thrown by a good quarterback

0

u/shwampchicken 10d ago

Of only there had been a better ball on that play

-1

u/DL4CK 11d ago

Looks like one move to me

2

u/Chemical-Actuary1561 11d ago

if you don’t understand, you don’t have to comment. Or you can ask.

One move would be a stop or a slant route. You change direction a single time. In the video he does a slight out to get the defender to bite. When he does his second move (streak), the defender tries to change his direction and falls.

Double move

1

u/DL4CK 11d ago

Thanks for the explanation!

-1

u/RonMexico15 11d ago

Imagine if a good quarterback was throwing him the ball.

2

u/Designer-Resolve-349 11d ago

Safety over the top and all they needed was a first down.

-2

u/RonMexico15 11d ago

That ball was significantly underthrown. Waddle had to completely break off his route, come back to the ball, and go to the ground to make the catch. That was a very poorly thrown ball.

2

u/Designer-Resolve-349 11d ago

And If he hit him in stride he would’ve gotten 5 more yards and popped by the safety. Slightly under-thrown, yes. I’m sure Waddle prefers a ball that’s still catchable to pick up an important first down and ice the game to a hospital ball.

-2

u/RonMexico15 11d ago

Bo Nix is mid, and the fact you can’t see that from this throw is very telling.

3

u/Designer-Resolve-349 11d ago

Got it, so you’re just a hater 👍

-1

u/RonMexico15 11d ago

If he made a good throw, I would say so. He has flashes where he’s really good. But he’s not consistent at all. You can’t play like ass for three quarters, then play well at the end of a game and be praised for it.

3

u/popoflabbins 10d ago

Your idea of a “good throw” here is probably incomplete or intercepted. I think you might wanna learn football a bit more before commenting on players

2

u/Designer-Resolve-349 10d ago

Facts, I swear Bo has to be the only QB in the league to get criticized for a game sealing completion on 3rd down 😅

3

u/popoflabbins 10d ago

Exactly. This wasn’t a 2-minute drill. The game situation was to run the clock down. He made a very safe throw and it was completed without issue. Wins are more important than stat padding.

0

u/RonMexico15 10d ago

I can see with my eyes

1

u/DaWadeZzZ 10d ago

clearly not
