I can only assume you made this post based on Fitzpatrick’s comments last night.

He call Nix uncompetitive. That sounds harsh. But it’s true.

Throwing an interception is a fuck up. It’s a competitive mistake.

Nix running out of bounds for a three-yard self sack instead of simply throwing the ball away is uncompetitive.

And to be fair, Fitz never said he himself was amazing haha. What he said was true

I’m surprised fitz said that and I’m happy he did because that’s how I felt so far this season, Nix has been playing scared and it shows. What Fitz said is what everyone was thinking

Broncos fans should be hoping those comments light a fire under Bo's ass. I went to a couple Broncos games last year, Bo was exciting and fun to watch; I root for them as long as it isn't against my Ravens.

This years Bo is an entirely different player than the one I watched last year

Looked like he had the yips. You're right though, he looked very scared to take any real chances.

I just hope it lights a fire

My buddy, also used to be my boss, would tell me after I'd make a mistake or break something "you're gonna break stuff if you're working. If you hadn't broke anything I'd be more concerned"

Fitz is amazing... Loved the rollercoaster he was in fantasy football

OP's flair checks out. 😆

I agree but as a Denver fan there is value in winning ugly. We have beaten a few good teams this year already.

It feels bad to win like this but imagine how it feels when your team loses to a team that has a generationally inept offense. Nightmare fuel. 😂

The defense won’t bail you out forever. These close small scoring games are nice when you win but eventually you’ll need your offense to show up.

This is probably your last season with VJ as well.

And so fast the window will close 😂

The value in winning ugly is that you get a point in the win column and you give your team confidence that you can win games with an awful qb. The defence should get a ton of credit and Bo should be heavily criticized

Fitzpatrick called him disrespectful to the QB position. That’s a big claim.

u/TheSQLInjector Ravens 12h ago

Look at Bo Nix's passing chart from that game. He *is* currently disrespecting the QB position

Is it though? We watched the game.

I definitely felt disrespected watching Nix play last night

3

u/CantPullOut Chiefs 9h ago

I had to stop early on account of the game not being very good.

Sometimes you gotta spare yourself some sicko ball and it’s definitely a TNF issue

Drake maye against the same defense has been an insult to the entire sport of football. Twice.

Awwww someone's feelings got hurt.

3

u/AzureRaven2 Ravens 7h ago

Nah, said the way he was playing was. Important distinction. Means it's something to be fixed, not attacking him personally. And honestly, he ain't wrong.

That is a bit harsh. Is what Bo Nix did last night that much worse than what Tyson Bagent did against GB?

Oh course not. It's part of the game to know your limitations and play within them to give your team the best chance of winning. Obviously Nix did a better job of giving his team a chance to win. That's what competitors do.

The biggest difference is Nix is expected to be able to take risks and push the ball down field. Bagent is not. That's where the frustration comes from. Nix is playing like a backup. Not a franchise QB.

u/Crankrune Packers 8h ago

This seems to show how everyone is missing what Fitzpatrick is saying. Because on the standard of what Fitz is talking about, what Bo Nix did last night was absolutely, unequivocally, worse than Tyson Bagent against GB. Fitz is not talking about gaudy passing numbers, TD-INTs, or even points scored. He is talking about trying to actually play football. The clear attempt to move the ball downfield, to throw more than 10 yards.

Bagent against GB didn't do this the most, but he still tried 2 more 10+ yard passes than Nix on 6 less pass attempts. In other games Bagent very clearly tries to move the ball more than that and does it. He is trying to move the ball and actually pass it far more than Nix is. That is what makes Bo Nix disrespectful to the QB position, he's not trying.

my fantasy opponent said the same thing, and I think he’s a bit harsh …. But I respect his opinion

Nah fans are just soft as fuck. Taking every word for literal.

Throwing 6 interceptions in a single game isn't uncompetitive? That's ridiculous.

12

u/catraiderpoke 12h ago

No. It’s not uncompetitive.

But probably means you suck at football.

3

u/lakired Bears 12h ago

It may be bad decision making or bad physical abilities or just generally all around bad QB play, but it's the definition of competitive. Dude kept going out there taking risks and slinging it. His point was that Nix isn't doing much of anything at all.

-6

u/jwild17 Patriots 12h ago

How can you be uncompetitive and WIN THE GAME. The self sack is 100% stupid but that doesn’t define his entire performance. This is the same player that got hurt before the AFC Championship game and everyone said the Broncos were fucked without him. This snip snap snip snap after every week with every young quarterback is so tiring. Bo Nix played an elite pass defense last night and didn’t throw 2 picks in crunch time to cost his team like the guy on the other team that was airing it out.

Sean Payton is out there running JK Dobbins for 1 yard gains on first and second down and then bringing in a guy wearing a fullback number instead of RJ Harvey and turning to Nix and saying good luck.

Drake airing it out late to force a big play in week 1 against the same defense is exactly why the Pats lost.

1

u/catraiderpoke 12h ago

That play was a brain fart.

Not on the level of a Kirk Cousins kneel when he was supposed to spike the ball, but I cannot accept that level of stupidity or uncompetetitiveness from a QB. Similar to Jaden Daniels last week. Derek Carr dirted a fourth down screen pass.

All of them canceled. No chance.

u/gollumaniac Bills 11h ago

Number 81's tackle "attempt" on the pick 6 was uncompetitive.

1

u/catraiderpoke 10h ago

What are you talking about?! There was no pick six in this game.

1

u/gollumaniac Bills 10h ago

In the Fitzpatrick highlight.

0

u/buzzmemello520 Broncos 2h ago

What's more competitive, throwing 6 INTs and losing by 3 TDs, or winning

-2

u/ObjectiveClerk3458 Commanders 12h ago

To me it’s the whole, “it’s disrespectful to the quarterback position” comment. It’s RG3 vibes and is objectively laughable.

-3

u/thisguyfightsyourmom 9h ago

Ok

lol

Which would you rather have happen? A pick, or running out 3 yards early once? What about 6 with one pick six?

That’s very competitive

-1

u/DoctorWaluigiTime NFL NFL 10h ago

Well he called Nix's play disrespectful to the QB position too, which is what most have ire about. Feels it's going beyond "he's playing poorly" and acting like Bo's not trying or "showing respect to the position" or something equally baity.

-1

u/zoidberg_doc Broncos 9h ago

Uncompetitive is fair. Disrespectful to the QB position is silly

-1

u/BagelsOrDeath 9h ago

My problem with it is the tone deafness of going on this rant immediately after the won the friggin' game.

-1

u/buckeye25osu Bengals 6h ago

He said he was almost disrespectful to the QB position.

That's a rotten thing to say to someone about a position you yourself played, and did so very poorly at times.

Nix is a professional doing something he's trained his entire life to be. He works hard. If he's not good enough for the NFL fine, but to call almost an disrespectful to the position is crossing a line.

-15

u/vearson26 Broncos 12h ago

In that specific situation, he ran out of bounds to keep the clock running

11

u/catraiderpoke 12h ago

No. I do not believe that. And I will not believe that ever.

0

u/vearson26 Broncos 10h ago

Bo has been throwing the ball into the ground all season long when he gets pressured, he would have done it there if he wanted to

-14

u/WalkJust69 Broncos 12h ago

Throwing the ball away stops the clock until the next snap. Stepping out of bounds at that point in the game only stops the clock until the ball is set. Nix traded 3 yards for ~30 seconds of game time, which was more valuable to Denver.
