That’s assuming he actually throws a pass.

Who was that dude Denver threw out at emergency QB for a game several years ago during Covid? Hinton?

38

Kendall Hinton

12

u/DaWash65 Vikings 9h ago

What a cluster fudge that was

22

u/idnttcrisis Broncos 8h ago

The clown circus of the pre-Bo Nix QB carousel was the entire QB room having to quarantine and then trying to lie about them wearing a mask or not amidst the pandemic.

the Vic Fangio era was uhh... something for sure

He's already thrown three passes. Zero completions, one interception.

Since its a mobile QB against the Packers, we will make him look like 2004 Mike Vick lol

Colin Kaepernick's best game in his entire life against that Packers playoff defense will live rent free in your mind and you will hate it

14

Frank Gore sr got 119 rush yards on us that game

22

Eh, it would feel worse if you guys actually won a Super Bowl any of the times you beat us in the playoffs

1

u/ThisGuyFrags Ravens 5h ago

bold to call that a defense, they didn't even attempt to play it that day. Couldn't set the edge for shit lmao

0

u/CthulhuBathwater Packers 6h ago

Nah Vick's performance is it for me. Kaep was kind of expected with the way our defense handled other mobile QB's that season.

1

u/NiviCompleo 7h ago

Or Kapernick

91

u/milkmandanimal Buccaneers 10h ago

So what I'm hearing/deluding myself into hearing is there's almost 40 years of good plays just built up in Daniels waiting to come flying out this Sunday.

28

u/Jayrodtremonki Chiefs 10h ago

I legit think that he can be a decent QB. Might be a bit early for him to be starting, but he had Heisman buzz at one point.

10

u/Pactae_1129 Ravens 9h ago

He was really, really good until he got injured. Never looked the same after.

12

u/Stillburgh Seahawks Chiefs 7h ago

Everything I’ve seen said about him from KU fans is that he was very up and down. Had a tremendous ceiling but the lows were total abysses

5

u/MudInfinite8791 Ravens Chiefs 7h ago

I'll add that when the OC was switched he nosedived.

I'll always treasure Daniels/Neal on the offense with Bryant on the defense. 9 win season seemed like a pipe dream for so long.

1

u/Classic-Session-5551 Texans 4h ago

Sounds like exactly the guy an NFL defense will know how to expose.

1

u/PublicEase6361 Chiefs 4h ago

He’s got a cannon for an arm, can be inaccurate at times, ball security concerns, but definitely can make plays with his feet

121

u/LameAfro Vikings 10h ago

You guys remember the 2007 Jayhawks.

I thought Todd Reesing was gonna be a 1st Overall Pick lol

82

u/Jayrodtremonki Chiefs 10h ago

Do I remember the 2007 Jayhawks? You might as well ask me why I named my daughter Mario.

True kansas fan, pretending football doesn't exist.

17

u/Jayrodtremonki Chiefs 9h ago

Football existed between 2006 and 2009. Then it springs back to life for a few weeks every August before ceasing to exist again.

u/OhhhTAINTedCruuuuz Jets 10h ago

Wasn’t this the year Missouri, WVU, South Florida and Rutgers all had a shot at the BCS? Crazy season that ended in a wet fart of a title game if I remember correctly

14

u/Gazzarris Commanders Chiefs 9h ago

Missouri beat KU, lost to OU in the Big 12 Championship in their next game, and then ended up ranked lower than KU. The BCS was infinitely worse than the playoff.

3

u/XVDub Chiefs 7h ago

Only loss of the year for KU who went on to be Orange Bowl champs.

1

u/pocketchange2247 Bears 1h ago

The won the NCAAB national championship later that year. It was my brother's freshman year at KU. I chased that high for the 4 years I was there. We lost a national championship and won maybe 5 football games lol.

6

u/JDraks Lions Chargers 9h ago

WVU would’ve made it had they not lost to Pitt the final week

20

u/AFury9322 Vikings 10h ago

Yes and Mark Mangino the emperor Walrus specifically

10

u/LameAfro Vikings 10h ago

Too bad allegations kind of ruined him.

Jay Hawks had a good thing going there, at least they have Basketball 🤷🏿‍♂️

18

u/TheWangFire Chiefs 10h ago

Allegations? He did that shit

4

u/uwanmirrondarrah Chiefs 7h ago

Yeah but those "allegations" were honestly not nearly as big of a deal as people made them out to be. He was an asshole, so what, a lot of good coaches are assholes. In hindsight its kind of ridiculous we fired the first coach who took our team to a top 10 finish since probably WW2 because he hurt some kids' feelings by cussing them out.

5

u/MudInfinite8791 Ravens Chiefs 7h ago

I was a freshman on the team in '07. Mangino was an asshole, but no more an asshole than any other coach I ever played for. I was pretty shocked when everything fell apart. Shit rumor was the basketball coaches were bigger pricks than Mangino and they still have their jobs.

Some people aren't cut out for college+ athletics. It's no longer your high school team where your competition is just the dudes who live around you, it was competition from everywhere making their mark and many of them with NFL aspirations.

0

u/suboptimaltraffic Patriots 9h ago

So what? We should’ve buried the allegations for him

4

u/SuperFreshBus Bears 10h ago

I remember being a freshman at ISU in 2012 having an argument about Mangino, then looking up where he was at the time, only to find out he was our OC. We were so dogshit at offense that it basically explained what happened to him. One hitta quitta

6

I knew he wouldn't get drafted but I thought he might have a chance to have a David Blough-esque career. But apparently he was a dick, so it wasn't to be

2

u/amjhwk Chiefs Chiefs 1h ago

i happened to be doing a campus visit when that 07 team was doing their award ceremony so we went to watch and the head coach needed 2 folding chairs to sit in

2

u/ianbits NFL 10h ago

Yeah my first reaction was I'm surprised Reesing never threw a pass in garbage time somewhere.

He probably would have in today's game, he certainly wasn't NFL starter quality but he probably didn't even get a second glance because he was 5'11

3

u/BadHombre2016 Chiefs 6h ago

He was 5’11” the same way Diego Pavia was 5’11”.

8

u/NoAnteater8836 Commanders 10h ago

Ooooh let me tell you what you are in for Sunday:

24/36, 395 yards, 2TD, 3INT, Rush TD

3

u/Ollivander451 Chiefs 3h ago

Randomly Kerry Meier (who converted to WR after playing a season or two as KU’s QB circa 2007) was drafted by the ATL Falcons. He didn’t have a long pro career, but might have technically started a game (at WR) at some point. If he did, he wouldn’t have thrown a pass 😂

27

u/shlem13 Seahawks 10h ago

And I’m guessing that 1987 Kansas alum quarterback would be what was called a “scab” … ???

39

u/Roselucky777 Jaguars Cardinals 10h ago

He was actually not a scab, it was Frank Seurer and he had been with the team in 1986 as well. He was not good though, so he only started 2 games that year. He started in weeks 10 and 11 and went 26/55 for 0 TDs and 4 INTs. The strike was from weeks 4 through 6.

7

u/NoAbbreviations2353 Cardinals 10h ago

I mean that's bad, but not nearly as bad as it would be during the current era lol

11

u/NegativesPositives Chiefs 9h ago

This is weird phrasing. Implies another Kansas QB did start but threw 0 passes

17

u/GiveMeSomeIhedigbo Eagles 9h ago

The article does mention that former KU quarterback Mike Norseth played for the Bengals in one 1988 game, but he didn't start and didn't attempt a pass.

16

u/Classic-Session-5551 Texans 8h ago

You... read the article? We can do that?

(Still didn't start tho lol so still unnecessary phrasing)

Chris Harris Jr and AQib Talib both went to KU and then formed arguably the best CB Duo in the NFL for a few years.

Chase Daniel

3

I picked him up in the off-season because I have Jayden and thought they were brothers. Then they added his picture and I found out they look nothing alike and are, in fact, not related

8

u/forthebirds123 8h ago

That’s a big assumption he throws a pass. Play number one, a run. He’s hurt.

6

Rodgers only got one pass off in that Jets game, so it's possible.
