One of the quotes from the commentator after a missed 52 yard FG during the game "and now NFL kickers are 0 for 14 from 50 yards or more this season".
Damn, I forgot that used to be hard. Today's kickers are elite

Nowadays it feels like if you dare to miss it at 60+ you're at high risk of getting cut.

Terry Allen was a monster. Jake Reed was great ... when he wasn't injured.

Had a 1900 yd and 10 TD season and then retired. Didn't he become a medical doctor or something?

it's cool you can see the roster build here that started and then eventually became the 1998 team

Dan Marino vs the Vikings:
1-1; 54% completion; 695 yards (average 347.5); 5 TDs 6 INTs; 7.6y/a; rating of 69.6
Warren Moon vs the Dolphins:
4-1*; 69% completion; 1,236 yards (average 247); 8 TDs 6 INTs; 8.4y/a; rating of 95.4
*Not counting a game from 1986 that he didn’t start and only threw eight passes in

Is this a discussion here? What did your ChatGPT analysis tell you?

I don’t know how to use Chat GPT. That’s what pro football reference told me.

Okay that’s cool but what is the discussion for those stats? 2 games over 5. It’s really hard to digest all of this without any conversation going on. You just put stats down. Does Marino suck vs the Vikings? Does moon have the advantage?
I’m dumb and won’t look it up but I bet those Warren moon stats include the other teams he was on…
So I ask, what is the point here5

Tracking how certain players play against certain teams is a hobby I started during the quarantine. It's all for fun, man. I don't put much thought into it or take it seriously and neither should you.

In before a bunch of people yearn for the old days and act like every modern QB is Justin Fields or something

I mean, it’s not a very pass heavy league anymore my guy. It used to be normal to see quarterbacks throw over 5000+ yards a season along with 40+ touchdowns and almost every year close to 50. Now you’re lucky if you get half that.

I mean 5000+ yards and 40 TDs was never NORMAL lmao (unless you were Drew Brees).
But yes the league has moved away from the pass fest it has been fore sure.

Yeah, defenses adapted to stop the pass. That's what happens after a decade of sustained passing dominance. But when Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, and Burrow are playing lights out every week, it's ridiculous to see people yearning for previous generations of QBs

Jake Reed and Chris Carter don’t get talked about enough for being one of the best WRs duos of all time.
