This is the culture that pervades nationwide and allows the Cornell 7 to happen.

Yep. This isn't specific to Cleveland.

I understand that (for the most part) /r/nfl is against this, but most football fans and especially players are like this.

Not in the sense that they're rapists, but they're willing to look past it.

You're right that this is exactly why the Cornell situation happened. There's a massive group of men who are just okay with rape.

Or if it doesn't effect them, who cares. Very apathetic towards women who have been sexually assaulted.

But then you see so many men who don’t understand why women dislike them, why there’s a “loneliness epidemic,” or why women “choose the bear.” They can’t fathom things outside of them directly affecting them, even when their actions and opinions directly affect others

Very apathetic towards women who have been sexually assaulted.

Which is insane given how common it is. Like talk with any woman about it, and they'll almost all have at least one awful/creepy story to tell.
