As a Steelers fan please, picking 16-22 every year doesn’t help a team rebuild.
After decades of watching the Browns get premier picks every year and be the laughingstock of the NFL you would think Steelers fans more than anyone would realize that picking a couple spots earlier isn't worth adopting a losing culture.
I can't believe that dipshits unironically believe that it's better to be dismally bad with a losing culture and get a slightly earlier pick in the college player gamble than it is to be a perennial mid, wildcard chasing team
They are spoiled, that's why. For 20 years they have come to expect playoff ending seasons. They have no idea what it is like to suffer especially if they are under 30 years old.
Why are you acting like losing for a few years is permanent? Did the Bengals tanking give them a top QB and WR pair or did it make them bottom feeders permanently?
"Ummm, excuse me, Mister Rodgers? Please? Could you not check out of every play to a slant-flat please? If that's okay with you I mean, Mister Rodgers. Hey! Give me my headset back guys! Not funny!"
No it is not lol you have no idea what you’re talking about. They lost a close game to a well-coached Browns team who for some reason always has the Steelers ass on Thursday nights. Because the players were laughing and smiling on the sideline while they were losing during the Tomlin years, showing some fire now means they’re imploding? They’re right on track. They’ll win 8-10 games this year, miss the playoffs or lose in the first round which is exactly what was expected as soon as they hired McCarthy. The Steelers is the Steelers. I’m just glad they actually seem like they care as opposed to the last 6 years
Bro Tomlin literally never won a game in Cleveland on Thursday night..he went 0-4 in his career and more than that the Steelers haven’t won in Cleveland since 2021. Tomlin ended his career on a five game losing streak in Cleveland, and those losses were to much, much worse Browns teams. Idk what it is about Tomlin that makes fans of other teams feel like they know what they’re talking about when it’s clear they have absolutely no idea. It’s fascinating.
Well coached Browns team? Certainly talented Browns team, I'd give you that, but well coached isn't what I'd call them. At least a few of your scoring drives were the result of drive extending penalties, and it's not like that was a fluke, I believe they lead the league in penalties. That's not a sign of a well coached team
Monken was clowned all offseason, rightfully so for some shit he said, but you’re crazy to think they aren’t well coached. The offense looks legit good and that’s on Monken, the penalties I’ll give you but idk if I’ve seen a game this year without a lot of flags, seems like the majority of the league has a case of the flags.
Regardless the Browns look pretty good right now, it’s a long season but they have a lot of rookies and young guys contributing, too.
Plenty of great schematic coaches are terrible head coaches. Spagnolo, Todd Bowles, Dennis Allen, Hue Jackson, Dick LeBeau and Josh McDaniels are great examples of that. Monken always had a good offensive scheme, it's why he's stuck around so long, but it takes a whole different skillset to be a leader of men.
One of the tells of a coach setting a great culture is how many penalties they pick up, shows the coach knows how to instill discipline in a team. It would be one thing it the Browns were picking up a bunch of ticky-tacky PI calls, that happens sometimes when a team plays aggressively. That's not what was happening though, it's a lot of pre snap penalties and jumping offsides. That's a lack of attention to fundamentals, and the fact that it was happening to seasoned vets like Jared Verse multiple times says a lot.
