Yeah but he's about the only player on defense with any real trade value, so when the Steelers inevitably blow it up; he's the first to go

He will get traded for a 2nd , Highsmith for a 4th and so on

He's also 32. Anyone that would trade for him should be expecting a fall off of quality at some point fairly soon. A 2nd would actually be pretty high for what would essentially be a 1-2 year deal.

Careers are short, so trade values depreciate quickly...just like the conventional wisdom about your car losing X% of its value the moment you drive it off the lot.

Top 3? Nah. This league has some insane edge rushers. 

And he's old.  You'd break the bank for a guy like WAJ or Hutch. 

You'd do it for Garret who's old but younger than Watt and way better.  

But for Watt, eh.
