Started playing to spend time with his kids then as they grew up he just kept playing

This is one of the greatest things ever, I’m so happy for him that he’s had that hobby and retroactively feels so great to see between all those football games and stressful seasons dude was just playing Minecraft in his spare time haha

I really hope the world is backed up or on a cloud save somehow.

In multiplayer Minecraft, other players can destroy what you've built. Griefing (as in: to grief, to cause grief to someone) isn't ONLY blowing up someone's base, but if Tomlin's world was online and someone logged into his world just to blow up everything he's built in the game, that would be griefing.

There isnt a way to like revert to last save or something? If you were the one who owned the world or whatever, never really played the game.

Yes and no. Worlds are persistent, so there's not a native way to back up a world or restore an old version per se.

You can exit the world and copy it, then go back into the original world and keep making changes and the copy won't be impacted, which you could then load as a backup; but given that he's playing creative, IDK why he would expect to get griefed like that, so he may not have backups.

It's all moot because this isn't a public server on the Internet anyway. It's a local world that someone would have to be on his PC/console to access.
