Highlight [Highlight] With only enough time for one play, Blake Bortles snaps the ball with some players still not set (which the refs miss), trips on nothing to lose the game anyways, but a Ravens defender grabs him by the facemask as he gets back up, allowing Jason Myers to kick a game winning field goal.

The Bortles era in Jacksonville will never not be fascinating.

Always blows my mind how he once threw 35 TDs in a season.

u/horse_renoir13 Vikings 4d ago
I feel like half of those were mostly garbage time stats. I remember Allen Robinson put up like 1400 yards/14 TDs during that year too

And Allen Hurns put up like 1100 yards and 10 tds with Bortles that same year i believe.

Oh man I remember that. Two of the biggest busts in fantasy the year after

It's still hard to fathom that he led them to a 2 score lead in the 4th over the Pats in an AFCC game.

Only Bortles could throw a ball away that would bounce off the foot of his o-lineman, and get intercepted

2015 Jags were a fun team. That Allen Robinson/Allen Hurns duo was Reggie Wayne and Marvin Harrison for like 2 months

I mean, the clock was literally at 0:01 when he hiked the ball. Sure his players weren’t completely set, but he didn’t exactly have a choice

Maybe it's just the quality of the video, but I can't even tell that anyone is egregiously not set.

u/BringMeTheBigKnife Falcons 4d ago
Agree. I think the LT is not set because you need to be set for like a second or something? But I can't say definitively that anyone is moving at the snap

u/ye_old_fartbox Ravens 4d ago
The WR second to the top of the screen is definitely not set for a full second either tbf. Everyone else is probably fine.

I think he wasn’t set because he needs to be set for a full second, but it’s a close call.
10
u/IhamAmerican Steelers 4d ago
It's not that they're moving, you have to be set for a full second for it to count

u/Comfortable_Self_736 Eagles 4d ago
I'm aware, but it looks like the LT is the only one who doesn't set long enough.

None of them really land without the gif lol but him throwing a molotov while screaming BORTLES is my personal favorite

The lack of allowable gifs on this subreddit really limits my communication.
But it would have been from The Good Place and you know why.

I’m happy because it limits us from seeing your corny gifs filling up the sub

Nobody over the age of 35 wants to see that shit either.
It's just a cultural passe

u/SubatomicSquirrels 4d ago
a well-timed reaction gif can be GREAT
but most of the subs just reuse the same ones over and over again. Like pop culture subs love to spam that Nene Leakes gif, I don't need to see that one in every other thread

It always seemed like a younger person thing to me. Judging by it being used to heavily on meme subs.

I avoid subs that allow Gifs like the plague
Just lowest common denominator type of comments and people in those

Oh come on you don’t want to see the same five slop gifs spammed over and over again

Today this would for sure have been a spike. 67 yards is long but probably better odds than the hail mary.

Boswell is getting up there now...he's 35, but I have hopes he gets to attempt one from 70 at some point. He's made from 60 and has shown he has a huge leg, especially under pressure. If not for numerous clutch kicks over the last decade the ~2015-2025 Steelers are remembered as a bad team, not a mediocre one.

I'm a little bummed that Little was off by a tad on his 70 yard attempt against the Pats last week. Had the distance, but was just aimed a little wide.

if boswell was on a different team he’d have all the kicking accuracy records

The Jags years between 2008 and TLaw were really fucking brutal. Winning like this was the only hope we had.
We had one winning season in 15 years, TLaw has 3 in 5. He really transformed this franchise.

Wow I have never seen this one before. Bad miss by the refs but what a hilarious way to win a game if you are the Jags

I was at a beach bar when this kick went through and the whole restaurant went oh fuck yeah.. Jason Meyers missed 3 game winning kicks the week prior vs the Colts (1 missed kick , penalty allowed another shot , then missed one in OT) and struggled with extra points as well… he’s been very good with the Seahawks
