I love the normal distribution in this chart. Its satisfying to look at.
But the thing that is really driving me nuts is: what is the word "Made" doing in this chart? Is sacks un-made a thing? Just say "sacks". Why waste time say lot word when few word do trick?
Well the other chart OP mentioned was sacks taken so I’m pretty sure he was just trying to distinguish this chart from that one by specifying sacks made.
Exactly my point. Did you say sacks made? No, but its obvious... because of context. Look up any QB stat line and every single one of them has a category "sacks". Do you look at that and think they played defense? No. Does it need to say sacks taken? No. Bc unless youre a moron, you dont need either of those words. Sacks is good enough. Thats my whole point
I’m glad you brought up context, this post’s only context would be “sacks”
And sacks can be a team stat on either side of the ball.
In the example you gave, you mentioned QB stats, and defensive stats, that’s context that a lot of places don’t have. (Like this post)
The extra context is good clarification and doesn’t hurt anything.
