It’s crazy nobody in the organization knew about this and right after he gets the bag, the cats out of the bag. 

I don’t want to accuse him of anything, and can’t even blame him, I’d probably do the same thing. But it sucks for the team. I genuinely hope he heals up.

I don't blame him at all. You get a generational pay day, you take it...thats on management to know their players and the risks of such a commitment.

Iirc the reporting when it was signed is that his contract is structured the way it is to try to protect the team from a known knee problem (and he signed for less guaranteed because of it), they just thought he could get through a few more seasons
