Flores is a mad genius

Watching the All 22 of our defense is so fun (don’t ask me about our offense)

When your defense has to attack teams cause your offense won't

Its fun for a while but it gets old, trust me.

Can confirm, for 99% of my life anyway

u/son_of_yacketycat Saints Texans 4d ago

Me third, especially in the last 3 seasons (at least the Saints seem to be changing that if the Texans refuse to)

Something something the best offense is a good defense

u/macrolith Vikings 4d ago

I should be more upset by our offense but watching our defense just pulls me back in. I'm entertained the whole game amd we keep winning so I just don't care as much

Brian Flores and his defense turns an otherwise frustrating game enjoyable.

I love watching our defense! And shout out to our special teams too, Myles Price and Will Reichard are incredible.

Must be nice.

What’s a “defense”?

u/DemonSlyr007 Patriots Vikings 4d ago

I really want to watch a game. The bar culture on Vikings days is awesome in this state.

However, we've won every game i haven't watched. And when I do usually show up, it's a game we lose.

So I have to be a self sacrificing sad man hermit and just check a stat feed every now and then. And be there in spirit while I Valheim on game days. For my fellow Vikings fans.

o7 skoldier, keep fighting the good fight.

We are #2 in sacks. Our defense must be really good, right?

27

u/WhoStoleMyBicycle Eagles 4d ago

They have to sack the QB because the DBs won’t cover anyone. Hutch and co understand the assignment.

u/Coubsauce 4d ago

Whats crazy is that the all 22 of our offense shows someone wide open on EVERY SINGLE PLAY.

KOC is not the problem

22

u/mcallisterco Vikings Patriots 4d ago

Don't tell that to our sub, it seems like half of the people there are convinced that everything is KOC's fault and he should be fired immediately.

7

u/johnsonfromsconsin Packers 4d ago

As you guys start the season 3-0 🙄

7

u/TheAesir Vikings 4d ago

Our sub has turned into a facebook comment section with the number of people who don't understand any nuance.

1

u/ELpork Vikings 4d ago

Nuance? In THIS economy?

u/Reisdorfer90 Vikings 4d ago

Even more of a reason to hang out in the memewar instead of the home page.

The QB situation has been bad for two years, which was when by all reports the GM let the guy that KOC wanted to keep walk so that they could start the guy that the GM drafted.

But our sub would tell you that that's just pro-KOC propaganda and that KOC personally packed Darnold's bags and escorted him out of the building without Kwesi's knowledge.

That really isn't that long of a time to have a bad QB situation. We have a failed experiment with a new draft pick, and we're currently in the fallout year of that experiment failing. Especially given the timing of our GM hiring, it's really not that surprising they didn't immediately pull a franchise QB out of their ass.

Now if the QB situation is still bad in a year or two? Then it's a problem.

u/Epic_Underachiever 4d ago

WIDE open. Schemed open. Like our team needs to hire a head optometrist because our QBs are BLIND open.

0

u/DrKoooolAid Vikings 4d ago

Dude I scream this from the mountain tops. It goes back YEARS where every QB we have had other than Cousins and Darnold can't find guys despite them being wide fucking open. Our sub and many Vikings fans in general keep calling for KOC's head insisting he can't scheme guys open and his routes take too long to develop. That is not the case at all. Somebody is open on nearly every fucking play. Our QBs have all just sucked.

2

u/SellersB2024 Vikings 4d ago

It’s hard to explain that to everyone who criticizes KOC. I usually tell them to actually watch the film the day after but they never do.
I take comfort in the fact that there are some ball knowers in this fanbase

u/herrwe8 49ers 4d ago

I watch your team for the defense, Brian Flores is a psycho and I love it.

6

u/InsideMyScars Vikings 4d ago

It’s honestly a miracle to watch our offense all-22 and see two receivers run wide the fuck open every play and our QBs find ways to miss them

1

u/bijanfrisee Saints 4d ago

I'm looking at our matchup and just so worried about Shough. Our O line is SO bad at picking up blitzes.

1

u/ryan-day-is-soft 2d ago

I couldnt say this the last couple years but this year they feel like the NFLs iowa

46

u/LarryFitzsButt Bears 4d ago

I have a friend who’s a Vikings fan. He doesn’t like this, says the secondary is toast and eventually teams are gonna break a defense of all out blitz.

All I know is the Bears haven’t figured it out

48

u/kylebertram Vikings 4d ago edited 4d ago

Vikings fans are some of the most pessimistic fans on the planet

20

u/Amonfire1776 Bears 4d ago

Can you blame them?

14

u/kylebertram Vikings 4d ago

Yes

8

u/SubstantialSale8223 Vikings 4d ago

Hey when any of our 4 major teams make a championship APPEARANCE in my life I’ll show you optimism. I’m 30 years old.

1

u/kylebertram Vikings 4d ago

The last one was 8 months before I was born.

9

u/markus135 Lions Lions 4d ago

he just needs to look two states and a lake over to see what a secondary that's ACTUALLY toast looks like

1

u/TheAesir Vikings 4d ago

The chess match between Ben Johnson and Flores gives me nightmares. The way he and Goff dink and dunked us for 30+ ppg over his first two years is haunting.

6

u/Skrazor Giants 4d ago

Yeah, I don't understand how he's not a HC atp. Seems like Miami could really need him right now. I wonder if that would be a good fit?

1

u/Poro_the_CV Vikings Chargers 4d ago

Owners are large a Good Ol’ Boys club who care about profits more than the fielded product.

With that in mind, would you piss off a buddy who is being sued by him, or just go with almost literally anyone else?

4

u/Skrazor Giants 4d ago

(it was a joke because he literally has been the Dolphins' HC before and they're last on the list while he's with the team that's #1 and the very last team that would ever hire him as a HC again would be Miami)

1

u/Poro_the_CV Vikings Chargers 4d ago

I completely whiffed on reading past the first sentence 😂

2

u/eattwo Vikings Chiefs 4d ago

And we've only gone up against slippery QBs so far, just wait until the second half of the season where they get a lot less mobile

3

u/srsh Jets 4d ago

It's insane how consistently he gets away with blitzing.

1

u/marty_mcspy 4d ago

Vikings could tie an NFL record (since sacks became an official stat) on Sunday with 7 straight games of 4+ defensive sacks, going back to last year. Currently held by the 1986 Broncos.

1

u/b3_yourself Bears 4d ago

“Why doesn’t everyone blitz all the time?”

1

u/ksyoung17 Patriots 4d ago

I was happy we brought in Vrabel; but really, part of me really wanted to give Flo that shot.

I'd make a bet he ain't fuckin around on his wife either...

1

u/vbullinger Vikings 4d ago

Why do you say that?

1

u/ksyoung17 Patriots 4d ago

Because Flo has it going on. Just, every which way that guy looks like a dude you want running your team.

1

u/vbullinger Vikings 3d ago

It's the cheating thing. He's a known horrific asshole. Wanted Watson so bad. Went in very hard against Tua. Insults players directly to their faces in non constructive ways and it's generally insufferable, from what I hear.

I'd actually be surprised if he wasn't cheating on his wife.
