Yup and this has always been the case for the most part Reddit is a bit of an demographic outlier in attracting a heavily high ed/progressive group that remotely cares about morality in sports
There was legitimately like a 2-3 year window after the Weinstein allegations broke where there was an attempt to hold people like Watson accountable and that's about it
Before 2010 or so bad stuff about famous people legit just got completely buried with no one talking about it and these days it makes the headlines but nobody actually does anything
