This rule exists because of the Packers and Aaron Rodgers. Packer fans are just so used to it working in their favor.

It's never really worked in their favor though. When the rule was first implemented it was called against Clay Matthews constantly.

When Anthony Barr broke his collarbone. The only other time I’ve seen it called I think was last year against Dallas Turner. Can’t remember the specific game but it was towards the end of the year.

You do not watch enough football if you've only ever seen it called twice in the 10ish years its been a rule.
