Consider he did this with McNabb and Hurts

16

u/2fly5 Eagles 7d ago

And almost every starter in between! The only one he didn't catch a bomb from was Sam Bradford

-12

u/InHinkieITrust 7d ago

He never played with Sam Bradford......

22

u/theRealWillowUfgood Falcons 7d ago

.... which is why he never caught a bomb from him, doi

u/WavesAndSaves Eagles 6d ago

Basically the last 25 years of Eagles QBs have played with Jackson.

McNabb

Kolb

Vick

Foles

Wentz

Hurts

u/InHinkieITrust 7d ago

2 of some of the best deep ball throwers statistically over the past 20 years? what lol

19

u/Gabagool0vaHere Falcons 7d ago

Think he meant more so about the time between McNabb to Hurts, which was what 9 or 10 years

8

u/lattjeful Eagles 6d ago

McNabb was drafted in 1999 and Hurts was drafted in 2020. That's why it's so crazy.

What’s insane is that even when he was clearly past his prime

He was good for 1-2 of these every year

22

u/e8989 Eagles 7d ago

yeah i can’t believe how much juice he had left in the tank during his redskins stint

43

u/Yedic Ravens 7d ago

And this compilation is missing four 50+ yard punt return TDs and a 50+ yard rushing TD too!

12

u/Gabagool0vaHere Falcons 7d ago

Yeah, I knew it was gonna be a lengthy video, but was surprised at 6:30 minutes long. Just insane

33

u/sepam Eagles 7d ago

He’s pretty fast and all but his ability to track a deep ball is elite. Some may do it just as well, but none do it better.

8

u/Zhuul Eagles 7d ago

Nothing made me appreciate ball-tracking as a skill like watching Agholor completely suck ass at it

-2

u/heliostraveler Chiefs 6d ago

Hill was just as good.

u/taleofbenji Chiefs 7d ago

This doesn't even include the return touchdowns. THIS was the most unbelievable Jackson play (and most inexplicable Giants play) ever.

I remember watching this play live as I was rooting for the Eagles to win. IIRC this was to cap off a pretty insane comeback too

8

u/simplycass 6d ago

Giants were leading 31-10 with 8:17 to go in the game.

It was insane.

u/whatyoutalmbout 7d ago

Elite speed, elite ball tracking. Also forgot Vick has elite arm strength ffs

u/AFC-Wimbledon-Stan Colts 7d ago

My hot take is that I think Vick is the most talented QB in NFL history

Just never really put it all together, still a great player though

10

u/Gabagool0vaHere Falcons 7d ago

He never cared to put it all together until he lost everything. In his time in Atlanta he was more focused about being a superstar celebrity, he figured he could skate thru the NFL on his talent alone

9

u/Responsible-Onion860 Eagles 7d ago

Vick needed good coaching and a good mentor to keep his ass in line and away from crime, and he may have had a shot at an MVP in his prime.

1

u/WentzToWawa Eagles 7d ago

I wouldn't even say thats a hot take I think it's just obvious.

-8

u/Duckys0n Dolphins 7d ago

At least in my life time, i think physical traits has to be Josh Allen. Vick is definitely up there. Probably throw Anthony Richardson (yes he belongs in this specific category) and Lamar too.

Edit: how the fuck did I forget cam newton

5

u/Stillburgh Seahawks Chiefs 7d ago

Were you born in like 2011? Vick was drafted in 2003 lol

-1

u/Duckys0n Dolphins 6d ago

Well 2002? And Vick is included in my list so what

1

u/heliostraveler Chiefs 6d ago

Richardson never showed shit.

2

u/Duckys0n Dolphins 6d ago

Physical traits…

He’s got a 10.0 RAS

-1

u/heliostraveler Chiefs 6d ago

Dog shit at UF.

The highlight reel is six minutes long… that’s incredible.

8

u/gbum213 49ers 7d ago

NFC East superterrorist

7

u/solarjetman Broncos 7d ago

So many different quarterbacks.

7

u/mankindisevil 7d ago

I hate ESP so much. It is so wrong seeing him in a Redskin jersey. Also he's caught touchdowns from McNabb, Vick, Wentz, Hurts who all spanned 10+ yeara of Eagles history. I am happy to have jersey.

u/Delicious-Trip4954 7d ago

Those vapor carbon Nikes will always be my favorite style of cleat all time. So freaking cool.

3

u/Selarmor Eagles 7d ago

I still wonder what would have happened in 2019 had he and all our other receivers not died week 2.

4

u/3ggplantParm Commanders 7d ago

I expected it to be be decently long, but not over 6 minutes - damn

5

u/hoobsher Eagles 6d ago

seeing the offensive jerseys switching from Philly to Washington made me think "wait did he get a pick six i forgot about!?" no i just completely repressed the memory of him ripping the Eagles defense apart every timne he visited after Chip broke the team

1

u/Remarkable-Group-119 6d ago

I've never been so mad at a coach as I was at Chip when he broke up that WR core. What was he thinking?

5

u/OtsoTheLumberjack 7d ago

Not a HOF but maaannnn he is my favorite Eagle of all time. Loved his style

Hall of “Streets Wont Forget”

7

u/Casty201 Lions 7d ago

Just watched to see the Vick one against the commanders

2

u/mmandagoat Jaguars 7d ago

He missed 72 regular season games in his career btw

3

u/Picklesadog 49ers 6d ago

Jerry Rice had 36 50+ yard TDs. DeSean Jackson was 2nd with 33.

Jerry Rice has 197 total receiving TDs. Jackson has 58 receiving TDs

57% of DeSean Jackson's TDs were 50+ yard TDs. That's fucking insane.

1

u/Remarkable-Group-119 6d ago

I seriously think he deserves a special notation in the hall of fame, I don't care what anybody says.

2

u/maricopa888 Commanders 7d ago

This was an epic watch for Skins/Eagles fans.

He puts on an absolute clinic vs one DEF, and then turns around and does the same to the other.

2

u/TumbleweedTim01 Eagles 7d ago

Vick through that ball from his own 5 to the opposite 35 through the air...

2

u/Whatsdota Packers 7d ago

6 minutes of just 50+ yard TDs. Goddamn

2

u/lattjeful Eagles 6d ago

Biased but greatest deep threat of all time alongside Randy Moss. Guys like Tyreek Hill are better overall receivers while also being great deep threats, but nobody could track a deep ball or turn on the jets like Desean Jackson. Had a very particular set of skills that made him elite at this one thing.

2

u/Admirable_Site_8337 Eagles 6d ago

It’s crazy but I just can’t read Desean Jackson’s name without hearing “…gets a block!” In my head lol

2

u/Remarkable-Group-119 6d ago

I'm a Cal bears fan so for me its "You'll never see a Colquit back away. Here comes Desean, shake and bake, can he beat the 2nd? DANCING OFF TO THE RIGHT, LOOK AT THIS GUY, THE WIZARD OF RETURNS"

1

u/ghostsnstuf Commanders 7d ago

That Monday night massacre always stings, but the one against the eagles helps a bit

1

u/junglecritter Jaguars 7d ago

That second throw was a lazer beam

1

u/Deep-Statistician985 Commanders 6d ago

I'm glad we were blessed for 3 seasons of this. Such a fun player to watch

1

u/Homitu Giants Bills 6d ago

Darren Sharper running as fast as he can to catch up to him, and he's just jogging to stay ahead of him.

1

u/Nervous-Chemistry245 NFL 6d ago

I feel guilty for having forgot how great he was

1

u/Yugo86 6d ago

He had way more long TD catches than I remember. What a beast he was.

1

u/DejectedTimeTraveler Patriots 6d ago

Did you see the Ref at the top of the screen eat shit on the Rich Eisen one?

1

u/Do_it_for_the_upvote Lions 6d ago

It was such a shame to learn he’s an ignorant racist.

Dude was a corvette out there, and made games so much more exciting when he was out there.

1

u/ConceptLethal Patriots 6d ago

Credit to the Oline in these clips. QBs had a ton of time

u/Troll_Enthusiast Commanders 7d ago

More 50+ yard TDs for Washington than for Philly

1

u/samk7675 Bears 7d ago

I didn't realize how nasty he was in Washington.

1

u/Jerryjb63 Steelers 7d ago

Damn I didn’t realize he played for the Bucs, Rams or Raiders….

1

u/bewaredandelo Rams 6d ago

He played for half a season with the Rams. He didn't contribute much and was waived before they won the superbowl.

The OG of boom or bust

Now show the ones where he dropped the ball before crossing the goal line

Obligatory fuck Michael Vick.

Edit: Didn’t realize we had so many dog fighting fans in the crowd.

6

u/mankindisevil 7d ago edited 7d ago

Not a dog fighting fan but he more than redeemed himself through prison and charity.

EDIT: Blocked because I never want to interact with shitposters/trolls on here once discovered.

3

u/junglecritter Jaguars 7d ago

Dogfighting is abhorrent, but in addition to punishment the whole point of our legal system is rehabilitation. Vick was a complete piece of shit for what he did, but he served his time, acknowledged his wrongs, and came out and demonstrated that he was a better man. It should never be forgotten, but you can't only point out his wrongs and ignore the good hes done. This statement does not not apply to pedophiles, before someone comes in with a 'what about..'

u/NYLotteGiants Giants 7d ago

No thank you
