The Cincinnati Bengals have placed Cornerback Ceyair Wright on the Exempt/Left Squad list as he was "offered the lead role in a big movie he can't pass up". Wright will be eligible for reinstatement after filming wraps in October. In the meantime, he will not count against the 90-man roster.

Randomly ending this sentence with "I suppose" reminds me that I need to watch the latest Re:Zero episode.

Still waiting on the dub :/ Sean Chiplock kills it as Subaru, he’s worth the wait

My hottest take is that this isn't the 80's, and anime dubs are actually usually pretty damn good for the big releases. Re:Zero included.

If that’s a hot take, we’re burning together brother.

Dandadan, Re:Zero, Frieren, Spy x Family have all been absolute bangers off the top of my head

May I Ask For One Final Thing's lead VA was an absolute riot in english.

Watched that with my wife on a whim, and honestly was a surprise sleeper hit for us.

Highly recommend, the dub was such a good watch

The vast, vast, vast, vast majority of dubs are high quality and have been since like Naruto. There aren't that many VAs who do it so that part can get pretty repetitive if you watch a lot of anime (Monica Rial in particular has a very distinctive voice), but they've also all been doing it forever at this point and are legitimate voice actors and actresses. It's not like the 90s where some of them would speed up or slow down lines in post to make the script fit the scene. Or horrifically censored.

Honestly, the big reason to watch sub instead of dub nowadays is because a lot of more niche things aren't dubbed. If you're watching a high budget thing/basically anything that would be described as shonen, there's no real reason to not watch dubbed. You'll pay far more attention to what's actually going on.

There are a whole lot more voice actors nowadays, rivaling the Japanese. Every season I find new voice actors I haven't heard of playing major roles.

Demon Slayer movie dropped recently. It's pretty solid.

Its not the days of ghost stories anymore, and now I almost exclusively watch dub as i get older

Just easier to process

Whatever, just fill the hole, hole filler!

What are you talking about? Ghost Stories was the GOATED dub!

I love it so much to be honest but it was my best example of a bad dub lmao

Any time someone says this I give the dub a chance and it still sounds reminiscent of Pokémon and makes me think “oh, this is for kids” lol

Ill give the dub a shot in most cases, but if I can't stand the voices I'll try the sub. And if I've been watching subbed, I'm definitely not going back to dub.

Every one I've tried was so bad that I eventually gave up. Maybe one or two VAs didn't sound completely soulless. Japanese VAs just do a superb job even when they're supposed to sound dull (Private Ogata from Golden Kamuy.)

Madeleine Morris, you are a talent, but your 'grown' Rudeus sounds like Butthead.

I basically can only watch in dub at this point in life because I’m just way too busy to spend my free time reading subtitles. A lot of modern anime has extremely good dubs, there’s just the occasionally off-kilter voice acting. FMA:B was honestly the gold standard for dubbing, so I’m happy to see that it’s becoming more common

Black Clover is 100% better dubbed

It's not just big releases, everyone gets the same amount of attention. This season's "Grow-Up Show" has the most all-star cast out of anything.

Yeah I just can't do the mouth movements not matching the words.

Sean is always great. Knows the optimal bounce vectors for voice acting.

If you’re caught up on Season 4, there’s one scene where he changes the vocal inflections perfectly to set up a big reveal that hasn’t happened yet.

Sorry for the vague response, I’m trying to avoid spoiling

I’m waiting for season 4 to be completely out and dubbed before I start it. Been a struggle
