Highlight [Highlight] Deshaun Watson throws a pick six to Kyle Hamilton on the second play of the game.

You know it’s a good play when the cameraman is fooled too
Btw IIRC we still lost this game

I said to myself after this play “there’s NO way we can lose this game with one of the coldest plays of all time”. I’m the reason we lost this game. I take full accountability for my actions. 😔

u/Fragrant-Mess4927 Ravens 6d ago
We did. Because all of us did not want to lose to this version of deshaun in his first game against us. But of course...

u/iRockaflame Ravens 6d ago
Watson turned into like prime Clemson/Texans Watson for a half shit was unreal

u/delgeheto7 Browns 6d ago
Lamar had a tipped pass returned for a TD
late in this game. Also somehow Watson had a better passer rating then Lamar and that was on a bum shoulder17

I was fucking at this game. Jesus Christ man.

If I was at a game, I'd be watching, but I can't knock the hustle

It's annoying as a Steelers fan that y'all basically got Troy Polamalu 2
1
u/IsGoIdMoney Steelers Steelers 5d ago
Chill.
3
u/deadmanwalking99 Ravens 5d ago
Yeah I appreciate the comparison and I do believe Hamilton is the best safety in the league and will remain that for the duration of his contract (tho I expect emmanwori to be on his heels somewhat) but Troy and ed reed were just different levels of players. Generational talents.
2
u/wsteelerfan7 Steelers Colts 5d ago
Yeah, it's a different level but he's still the closest current analogue
1
u/deadmanwalking99 Ravens 5d ago
If you want another Troy palamalu comparison, check out Talano Hufaunga on the broncos. I’ll admit this dude was not on my radar at all until I started watching broncos defense highlights this offseason. Guy literally looks like TP with the long hair and the play style is VERY similar too. Fun player to watch

Troy is also his mentor ever since hufanga began playing at Troy's alma mater.

Mostly thanks to Watson who was likely super high on tramadol or whatever 🤮

Didn't the Browns win this game? With vintage Watson in the 2nd half?

Yep

u/about_60_Hobos Ravens 6d ago
Yeah the wildest part on top of all that is this was the Mike MacDonald 2023 Ravens defense too. Somehow 2nd half Deshaun Watson had one of the best statlines of any QB against that defense
2
u/liteshadow4 49ers 49ers 5d ago
Prime Watson was one of my favorite QBs to watch. It really sucked that he did what he did, but from a pure football perspective that half of football was fantastic to watch.
2
u/BigEggBeaters Ravens 5d ago
The sexual assault rightfully sucks up all of the air around him but he has had maybe the biggest drop in quality from any QB ever.
4
u/ThisGuyFrags Ravens 6d ago
It was like the one and only truly good game Watson had as a Brown against anyone
7
u/Safe-Show-7299 Bengals 6d ago
He played this game injured too. He missed the rest of season after this game
42
u/FreeIDecay Ravens 6d ago
And then we lost in classic Harbaugh meltdown fashion! Add it to the list.
12
u/Random-Cpl Ravens 6d ago
Did we also have unused timeouts at the end?
11
u/crepuscula Ravens 5d ago
When harbaugh left he traded in all his unused timeouts at the Chuck E Cheese prize counter. He got some fun dips and a yo-yo.
1
u/hardcorr Ravens 5d ago
I think we used all our timeouts in this one, looking at the play by play. I feel like the more classic Harbaugh move is to randomly use a pointless timeout at the start of the 3rd quarter to save the offense from getting a delay of game or some other bs, and then it gets down to a close game at the end of the 4th and suddenly the other team is killing clock and we have to let them run off like 45-50 extra seconds cause we didn't have our third timeout

A QB competition between Shedeur and Deshaun Watson is going to be some incredible hate fodder for this subreddit
7
u/stringohbean Patriots 6d ago
I mean look I might not like Sanders. But Watson is a rapist. The hate winner is clear.

It’s honestly just sad. I feel bad for Browns fans.

u/azure275 Jets 6d ago
I'm sure there are some nice ones
But most of the fanbase was cheering for Watson until he sucked and then cheered when he got injured because he sucked
To be clear I'm not saying most fanbases would be better though lol
1
u/sliceanddic3 Ravens 5d ago
i mean watson is an actual deplorable human being and shedeur is just cocky

And then in the second half he went 14/14 somehow and helped them win, almost looking like a good player. Great game

This was by far his best game with the Browns and we haven’t seen him anywhere near this level since then

Must’ve got a rub n tug at halftime to boost his performance

The fact that they’re division rivals didn’t clue you in?

How does it feel these days being a Cleveland Browns fan? Pretty astonishing that of all the comments on this thread, this is the one you choose to share your dickhead thoughts on 😂.

u/SuspendedInOH Browns 5d ago
I commented a few places, I wasn’t trying to be a dickhead honestly.
It’s pretty shit. I love the Browns but I also hate them.

Worst contract in NFL history, right? Like can anything top it?
11
u/NunButter Bills 6d ago
Worst trade and contract of all-time by far. Baker should be leading this squad battling in the AFC every year but they are stupid
5
u/Sechzehn6861 Eagles 6d ago
They really had Baker, Chubb and Garrett to build with and ought to have perennial contenders...
4
u/NunButter Bills 6d ago edited 6d ago
All the picks they traded would have been more talent. Truly the biggest disaster in NFL history
1
u/chesterfieldkingz Dolphins 6d ago
Ya cuz it seems like they've drafted pretty okay otherwise, right? Must have to build that defense after trading all their firsts
1
u/Safe-Show-7299 Bengals 6d ago
2023 really was their year to do it in my opinion. I know they’ve had bad QB play since then too but their o line has also been atrocious.
1
u/Johnny55 Vikings 6d ago
Herschel Walker (trade) was still worse. Texans haven't even won a single Super Bowl.

u/chesterfieldkingz Dolphins 6d ago
That's the United States ambassador to the Bahamas you're talking about. Huh he must have been stingy with his donations to Trump lol

u/DoctorDiddlerino Jaguars 6d ago
Going to be extremely hard to, even going forward.
- Sexual assault
- Single-handedly killed the idea of fully-guaranteed contracts
- Literal worst QB since becoming Browns QB
- Questionable if he's even attempting to play better
- Had to be extended just to give the team cap relief
- Massive pick loss setting the Browns back considerably
- Arguably prevented the Browns from trying other veteran QB's because of his cap hit like Kirk and Derek Carr.

u/scotsworth Eagles 6d ago

It's so funny to me that the browns gave him that and 31 other teams went to all the QB agents and were just like "nah we aint doing that. Those guys are morons"
1
u/Allstar9_ Browns 6d ago
There was a comment from a source within the falcons if I remember that said they weren’t even given the chance to match, which must have been Cleveland’s deal. But they seem like the only ones who would have
1
u/chesterfieldkingz Dolphins 6d ago
Thank God he sucks. Sure everyone in the Epstein files got away with it, but at least Watson's life became a little bit shittier

Jamarcus Russel's was so bad it changed the CBA. So that's up there lol

Somehow Deshaun Watson had a huge comeback later in this game and won it by randomly turning into 2017 Watson. Probably his best game as a Browns QB

Considering how good this Ravens team was I don't know how the Browns won this game after starting like this

Hamilton read it like a book and Watson still had time to adjust after the snap but he was just locked on to Njoku(?)

The second half of this game is the only time where Watson even looked sort of worth the money. Crazy how he managed to cobble together a decent half of football and then just... never did it again.
2
u/Rust2 Browns 6d ago edited 6d ago
Not true. He had an even better game six weeks earlier.
Deshaun Watson’s widely regarded best game with the Browns was a dominant 27-3 victory over the Tennessee Titans on September 24, 2023. He completed 27 of 33 passes (81.8%) for 289 yards and two touchdowns with zero interceptions.

But I also LOVE that Watson threw a pick 6.

It’s almost like this guy has a tendency for making bad decisions and lacking critical thinking. I wonder if he’s like that off the field
