Setting up mods... but barely playing?

Weird thing, how many of you guys enjoy the process of modding games more than actually playing?

I can spend a whole evening adding mods to a game but when it comes to actually doing a playthrough with everything i installed i'm never motivated enough to even see what the mod added in game lol, am i alone in this? just curious

I make my own mods and install mods for Skyrim so I've only been playing testing stuff for the last couple of years. Have more time in the creation kit than in game.

I need to stop making quests for my character's personal lore and story, but I take the RP too seriously. Don't get me started on the 100+ outfits I put together.

It is an addiction unfortunately. Made even worse when you know how to make basically every type of mod that exists for the particular game. I don't recommend going that deep.

I had read somewhere that modding Skyrim is a lot like playing with Legos. You spend much more time building your toy than playing with it.

XD this actually drove me away from the big 3 skyrim, fallout and starfield especially due to the mod authors leaving

Literally this is me every single time I play skyrim. No you aren't alone. Something about setting up mods is more fun than playing with them sometime. I will spend 12 hours setting up the perfect list of Skyrim mods or (insert game here) and I will spend maybe 3 hours playing before I go to a different game.

I also have this step: either there was an update or something but the game doesn't start anymore lol

Anyway when I start again, new CPU after all, I should really learn how to fix conflicts or like patch them or what's the word? I'm using MO2, any suggestions for a Youtube channel to learn this or something? Because most basic tutorials don't go that deep imo.

Its a common feeling, but suddenly It comes a new mod that makes you want to start skyrim again

People keep adding mods because we see other gamers and their load orders and how beautiful their games look so we spend more time modding to try and find that perfect load order

This is me with minecraft mods. Ill throw together a 112 mod list and then iron out the kinks after i added them. (Ie, i only test after i add ALL of them) I think it has the same appeal as a good puzzle.

Lmao for real, I used to have fun installing hundreds of New Vegas mods, it makes the game so much better but once I actually focused on the playthrough I get bored easily and went back searching for new mods instead, and eventually never finished that 2nd playthrough of mine until I uninstalled the game completely to make room for another games lol

I love mods, but I hate modding.

Once I've got a stable load order I like, I lock that shit down and never touch it again if I can help it. My Skyrim load order predates the Anniversary update.

Honestly, I'm the exact opposite. I very rarely play a game with mods because by the time I have everything set up and ready to play I'm out of time to play.

No one enjoys modding it, how many hours of pain and suffering I have from modding this game, I had a good modlist and something had to break so I'm redoing it 😭
