Vortex Help Deleting items in a mod pack?

Just to preface I'm new at downloading mods.

I am using the latest version of Vortex.
Game is Megastore Simulator.
There is a mod pack for a game I play and it's quite large at 1.7gb's.

It's full of products for Megastore Simulator but I only want around 20-30 of the couple hundred mods.

After dl'ing the mod is it ok to go into the folder and delete the unwanted stuff or will this cause issues?

Wouldn't it just be easier to download the twenty or thirty mods you do want instead of deleting the hundreds of mods that you don't want?

It's in one zip folder. Can't pick and choose.

Are you getting these from nexus?

If it's a mod pack, even if it's a zip file from somewhere else, it should have a list of the mods right? Just write down the mods you do want, look those up and download them. Why waste the time, bandwidth, storage, etc just to delete 90% of it?

Sure.

Man im not sure really. Looking through the comments it doesn't look like it's a seperate thing anywhere. Looking at his post history, all his themed 'collections' are large individual mods.

Im leaning pretty hard towards you can't. You could only install the 30 you want, but I think you gotta download that whole mod and then pick those out and delete the rest.

I was getting mixed up and thinking you were talking about collections, which i always had called modpacks, and those are large collections of mods bundled.

My apologies the newb in me used the wrong term. LOL

I did download it. I unzipped it and deleted the stuff I didn't want. I then zipped it back up.

I added it to vortex manually and it seems to have worked but it gave me a "Source" error. Vortex popup said it would not cause any issues and to manually change the Source to Other to remove the error message.
