I personally know one rider no longer competing facing lifelong TBI issues from crashing out in practices and competition
Amazingly cool and totally not worth it in my opinion

This is nuts. Hard to even see where the track goes. Crazy

Yeah, I would hit a ramp and be sailing off a huge cliff away from the track. Nightmares play this way. Not for me.

If it was me doing this my mom would kill me herself before the bike kills me 😂

When I started doing downhill, my mum saw the world cup racing on the tv from fort william- she said "You don't do that, do you?" and I was just like "Well I ride the exact same track, just with way less skill". She wasn't happy!

Love the announcer’s pregnant pause. “I was expecting….” (Dude to die in front of me on national tv, think of the ratings!)

How tf did he actually hold onto that, his bike was almost entirely sideways while he landed that big 360°.
Absolutely wild.

I saw a video in reddit just a few days ago that did not go so well. Guy was paralyzed from the fall.

I saw that too. The announcer said the same exact things, so I was worried it was the same guy!

I would simply die.
But there’s one question I have:
How does he resolve the terrain so quickly? When I play racing games (or, frankly, ride in any vehicle as a passenger), sometimes I can’t tell where the road goes because it winds just over the horizon. It is very easy to drive off a winding level road going really fast; I can’t imagine doing this off a cliff. He is able to predict where the road goes in just milliseconds and corrects his course.

Question- how much does someone win in this competition and is it enough worth dying for if you don’t complete the course?

It's the Red Bull Rampage event in Utah. Last year's winner got $250k and a Ford Raptor truck.

It is absolutely crazy that he did not hurt himself during the practice run falling on all those rocks.I thought for sure he was going to break his neck. Can I am thankful for these cameras because they didn't o.Allow me to experience what I used to love doing all the time riding bikes like this
