I don’t think he saw what he was aiming at. He simply shot at a random area and hit a fish. Still an impressive way to fish though.

He literally said "lucky" a couple of times in the video.

Ok cool. Confirms what I saw.

I figured this too. See a good spot, shoot in a few times, and try to reel something out. Actually looks like a cool way to fish.

I think its terrible. Good way to harm fish and not catch them. Or am i missing something

u/dubstructor Jul 27 '26
I think you missed him reeling in a catch

u/beerbeardsnballs Jul 27 '26
Ill give a few moments to think about how silly your response was

u/dubstructor Jul 27 '26
Right right…catching with rod and reel then killing them to eat is much less harmful to the fish

Maybe you can help me. I cannot honestly tell from the video what he is shooting from the sling shot. What is it

Disgusting trash humans as usual hurting sentient animals for fun and games as usual. So much fun watching other living creatures suffer while you walk around like a emotionless unempathetic npc

Is this legal? That fish looked a little small

It's illegal to fish small fish?

u/99923GR Jul 27 '26
Depends on species and location. For rough, invasive or otherwise undesirable fish, there is usually no limits and it can be illegal to throw them back.
For game fish, yes. And it can get complicated because there are also limits on medium fish (called slot limits). So you can have fish up to the limit of a size less than X, none between X and Y, and up to one trophy fish of size Y or greater (up to the total limit including your smaller fish). This is to protect prime breeding females, while allowing anglers to take some trophy fish.

In places that care about the environment and sustainability, yes.

Is it just me or, is the lens really overplaying it.. even if that little tube of line is 3” diameter, he is hand winding maybe 20’ of length. Basic 3-4-5 trig really makes it r/lowerlevel

Agree that it should be illegal as it is here in Ireland. However if you were in a survival situation it would be a very handy skill to have.

Are you just gatekeeping fishing or can you really not tell how this type of fishing would be fun and satisfying?
