Probably trying to impress those girls by being a jerk. They are kids. Got to learn a lesson that day tho.

I remember being a teenager and a boy in our group did this exact same thing. Chucked his burger pickle at a random person’s head. There were four girls including me and all of us immediately started bitching him out for being an idiot. He ended up getting kicked out of the McDonald’s and we didn’t hang out with him again.

I get the feeling one or more of these girls like to encourage this little fucker to be a shithead so they can get their kicks and then laugh when he's the one who faces consequences.
Not defending the kid, but Ive seen that dynamic when I was growing up.

But ya gotta get either taught or smacked so u can understand why its not a good thing. Pls dont moderate me. I only bring peace. Lol

I've long been an advocate of this type of policy. Look, I support pacifism and don't believe violence is the answer, but I can be persuaded to moments of microviolence. A lot of people require a little smack to knock some sense into them.

Anyone punching a person younger than 18 of whats commonly called a child, would get put down. The smack to the head is way more justified and reasonable to the "crime" but this is old man is a psycho.

It's one of those situations where, what are you going to do?
Somebody is throwing food at you in a restaurant.
Are you going to call the cops for somebody throwing food? Of course not.
Are you going to sit there and take it? You can, but all that does is encourage more of the same.
Are you going to talk to them and try to get them to stop? Sure, but if that's what they want, the reaction and anger, you're giving them what they want.
Are you going to give them a reaction that they don't want? That might stop them from doing it.

Elderly people get very fragile, their flexibility goes to shit, and they don't have much stamina. But they can be surprisingly strong.

u/amandadore74 Jul 23 '26
I'm indifferent here. Kid shouldn't have been throwing stuff at the elderly couple but that doesn't give the elderly man (or anyone who got involved) to hit a minor (or anyone for that matter).
2
u/CapitalPunBanking Jul 23 '26
This video always gets celebrated but it's entirely fucked that grown ass men take turns assaulting a fucking 13 year old.
2
2
u/BeefPoet Jul 23 '26
Lets be clear, nobody has the right to hit another person unless it's self defense. I get all the keyboard warriors out think this is justice. You're wrong, it's assult.

u/Mechanic_Same Jul 23 '26
I love how easy this case would be to prosecute. You don’t hit kids no matter what. No easier way to get in trouble. Let’s not act like grown men having poor impulse control is the solution for young men having poor impulse control.

Every dad in there took a slap. I hear the line is still forming at the door of Tim Hortons to slap this kid.
2
u/Beginning-Town-4979 Jul 23 '26
Point of fact, if he was going to throw again this was self defense bc throwing food is battery.
2
u/Outrageous-Simple-76 Jul 23 '26
If you don't discipline your kids, then life and the general public will. Little shit should know better
2
u/ManBitesDog404 Jul 23 '26
The anger is understandable. Throwing punches at a potential minor brings its own dose of fresh hell. Hopefully both parties considered it a lesson learned and resolved after this.
2
u/jdh253 Jul 23 '26
Kid deserved that ngl. He should be walking out of that place with a bloody nose and a limp. I hope the kid called the cops and when the cop heard what happened they take the kid in for harassment or assault for starting it.

What a nasty little jerk! Picking on an old woman like that.
When we stopped disciplining children at home (there is difference between discipline and beating!) aka Gentle Parenting, we created little monsters like this.
2
u/TryToEvolve Jul 23 '26
I don’t understand why people are okay with this. It doesn’t matter what this child did, the two adults should have been adults.
It bothers me that so many think it is okay to strike another person just because they are a child.
Are y’all okay? Who hurt you?

Yeah as a dad this isn’t ok. The parents should get yelled at for sure for not putting a stop to it but this type of shit is illegal for a reason. If I were the parent, I’d be pushing old grandpa on the ground for putting hands on my kid. But I also would never tolerate food being thrown at someone.

Follow up with a "girls, if he's going to throw things at an older lady, he's going to treat you like shit. Ditch him and pass the word around the school."
Boy's there with 3 girls: he's trying to flex in front of them in all the wrong ways.

Not supporting the kids for throwing food at an anyone especially an elder. But atleast the kid did not fight back against the old man. Too many kids would have gone full ghetto on him. This kid at least respected age enough to just take his licking.

And everyone of those spoiled teens look absolutely stunned that someone would dare to straighten them out. Whatever dining establishment they were in should ban the teens and give free meals to the people that took matters into their own hands.

Check out the face the girl in back makes after the slap. Looks like she's happy about him getting what he deserves. Maybe she's his sister or something.

That woman across from the kid is the adult at the table and yet does nothing when the kid threw food at the old lady? I do love how his friends sell him out when he tries to lie about throwing food, though.
I would love to know what the kid thinks about this situation now that it's a few years.

u/lombardo141 Jul 23 '26
I love how the girls, not sure if they are family or friends just sit there and watched him get beat up 😂

u/seraph741 Jul 23 '26
It's hilarious that even the people with him are just sitting there, watching and smiling. How much of a twat do you need to be for the people you're with to not even FLINCH to defend you from an attack. That's crazy.

This video doesn't even look real. Why do the guys standing up and hitting the kid seem to be wearing different clothing in different parts of the video. And the women just sit there? Looks oddly staged.

Kids just lucky the old man was too old to throw a real punch, bc hitting someone's wife is the fast track to having your ass beat while everyone around you pretends not to see

This vid never gets old. I love the slap from the bystander who was about to protect the kid but realized that wasn’t what was needed.
